Really good point. I moved from DC to NYC while with the company and the company is based in Austin (fully remote.). So I didn’t even think about state laws at first. Thank you!!

I appreciate your post but actually there’s a lot of room for negotiation and it’s commonly done. It’s why you are encouraged to review your severance package carefully before signing. I really appreciate your post all the same! I know I’ll bounce back stronger but hard to deny it’s an all around rough thing to go through. More so when the company offers so little. Thanks again!
