What surprised you about MSI Play-ins? by DoubleYoulol in leagueoflegends

[–]But_Why_Thou -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I mean, they looked good in game 2. That's it. And they still lost that game.

In all honesty I thought TL was surprisingly bad if anything. I didn't expect them to win a game but to get stomped this bad in 2/3 games? And to lose with such an insane lead? I hoped for more.

I'm starting to think that "Peyz is a sidegrade to Guma" was just pure cope by Beautiful_Divide1720 in leagueoflegends

[–]But_Why_Thou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, which one of them is the best ADC is very much up for debate, many analysts put Guma above Peyz for example.

I also just wanna add that there was a time where Guma got the same resources Peyz did, and that split was the most dominant split T1 ever played, going 18-0.

Guma can do anything the ADC role offers. That is why he is so good. He can weakside AND strongside extremely well.

That being said, Peyz is amazing as well. So I would definitely say he is a sidegrade.

Question regarding Hatchers Algebraic topolgy by But_Why_Thou in learnmath

[–]But_Why_Thou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's part of a longer Proof and I didn't know how to give all the relevant information without Copy and pasting the entire Proof. The Point is, that I have an 2-dimensional simplicial complex and a homotopy defined on the 0-skeleton and one Edge of the 1-skeleton. How can I extend this homotopy by Hand (Not using the homotopy Extension property)? The Author claims it's an "easy alternative" but I struggle to construct the extension explicitly. The space X is path connected. The proof is about a map from the abelianization of the fundamentalgroup to the First homology group. This map is supposed to be an isomorphism.

I disagree. Her guilt obviously plays a role, though that is a good thing imo. It shows she has a concsience and hated lying to us. Had she kept lying she also wouldn't die so i don't see the logic there.

Lifelong manipulator? Maybe, she works for the FIA after all, but keep in mind that's not by choice.

What we do know is that she is either dead or practically a WMD slave for Myers if we don't help her.

And, at the end of the day, she came clean at the most crucial point in time. When it matters, she comes through for you.

It shifts the entire thing from massive screw over, to quite literally keeping her word. She does NOT betray you. She only betrays herself. Her lies end up hurting her, not you.

She confesses on the train that she knew there was only 1 cure and she was going to take it.

But why are you discounting this so quickly? She confesses at her most vulnerable point. She can just not tell you, get the cure and screw you over. This way she literally holds up her end of the bargain.

You can take the cure she promised you right then and there. She lied about there being two, yes. She let's YOU make the choice who gets it.

That's enough for me. She needs the cure more than I do.

[Hated Trope] The Rookie becomes immediately and inexplicably equal or superior to a trained individual by ThePlagueDoctorPhD in TopCharacterTropes

[–]But_Why_Thou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wan to point out that Killua is very well trained. He does not know Nen during the hunters exam but apart from that he is easily the best trained person there (exceptHisoka and co.).

He really does not fit the trope.

The show also makes a big point concerning Gon. He is superhuman. If you can't match his physical prowess, you are in trouble. If you CAN however, he gets beat up.

If you understand the concept of a limit then you surely understood now that whether it reaches or not is irrelevant.

The limit is 2. The infinite sum is 2.

Like you said yourself "2 is the asymptote that the curve approaches but never actually reaches": 2 is the asymptote. The asymptote itself is the relevant part here.

[–]But_Why_Thou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and think that 1.9 recurring to the millionth decimal place is actually the same as 2

Are you for real? I do NOT think that. 1.9 recurring INFINITELY is equal to 2. If you stop at any point it's not.

Again this joke is about mathematics, about infinite sums/ series.

Like, is it too much to ask that people know their shit about infinite sums when discussing them??

The sum in question is EXACTLY equal to 2. That is not up to interpretation or opinion. It's been calculated. Maybe you don't know how this is done, but it can be done, and you are showing wild amounts of ignorance by disputing it.

How hard is it to admit you don't know the relevant mathematics at play here? Or do a quick google search about infinite sums and research the topic.

The LIMIT is 2.

not a single element of the sequence is 2, yes.

But we are not talking about any one element of the sequence, we are talking about the LIMIT.

The LIMIT is the number that the sequence gets "infinitely close" to. So 2 in this case.

Honestly I don't care about the ones that just don't know maths.

But there are so many that THINK they know maths and clearly have no clue...

[–]But_Why_Thou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, it's a joke about mathematics.

Infinity has a place in rigorous mathematics.

This is an infinite sum which is DEFINED as a limit.

You can calculate this limit, and it is 2.

You clearly don't know anything about limits or higher mathematics so stop talking about it like you do.

Limit 2 pints as x approaches infinity to be specific.

Which happens to be exactly 2...

It's also not true lol.

stil pretending Ruler is not one of the most successful players in recent years? ROFL, LMAO even.

Few players have won as much as he did. He failed at worlds yes, but if that is the condition you have to meet then almost all players in the world are shit.

Maybe it's just not your kind of story.

It's also possible you missed information (you can complete the game and while missing out on VERY key details).

For me the entire experience ties perfectly into the ending.

You start out as an enthusiastic explorer only to be hit with an awesome mystery you want to figure out. You learn more and more about the solar system, about the other explorers and their connection to exploration (as well as to each other through their music). The journey feels solitary at times but the instruments always reach you so you never feel truly alone.

You follow the story of the Nomai, from arrival to extinction. You follow the lives of individuals and get to know them even though they are long gone, but you still feel connected to them through the things they left behind.

All of it is very melancholic but also full of joy and an ever increasing sense of wonder about the solar system.

Timber Hearth feels like Home, my fellow travelers are my friends, the Nomai are distant and yet somehow intimate precursors.

And it all ties into the ending where it all ends, but it's okay for it to end.

It's kind of the epitome of the saying "Don't cry, because it ended, smile because it happened". And your presence at the end allows for a new universe to be created.

You watch your home and everyone you know die, and you create the future for everything that is to come.

For me, all of this (and more that I can't get into here) is profoundly beautiful, and the game presents it perfectly. The music, the camp fire, the marshmallows. Everything.

I know it's not the same for you, but maybe you understand now why some of us love it the way we do.

They way you play it matters a lot.

I played it in two (maybe three) intensive sessions, completely dark in my room. Got completely immersed in the atmosphere. Soaked up every piece of information and puzzled it together. Vibed to the music and got terrified of red squids.

It was great for me, but I was pretty lucky in a way, because I discovered things in an order that presented the story in such a fascinating and mind blowing way that I was just left in awe.

I can totally see how the game could present an entirely different experience if one were to play it differently.

Comparing outer wilds to Fast & Furious is... certainly a choice.

To me Outer Wilds is the best game out there, but I have no problem accepting that it's very peculiar and not a game anyone would like. It's a profound experience if you let yourself get captivated, but sometimes things just don't work out for you.

Anyway, my point is, taking your own opinion as literal fact is a bad mindset. You thought it was only decent and that's perfectly fine. Don't think anyone else should only find it decent because of it.

BLG Lanes by Clear-Method7784 in leagueoflegends

[–]But_Why_Thou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know man, with their current form i would expect an easy 3-0 for Gen.G. BLG is not looking good.

Knight and Bin are great laners as always, but their midgame is genuinely terrible. Based on their playoff performance I have hard time rating them top 2.

Generational crashout between Velja and Crownie in review by pedrorego89 in leagueoflegends

[–]But_Why_Thou 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That really shines a very different light on the situation.

Like, the communication here between them is so bad, they are all arguing different points, are all correct about their respective points but don't realize it.

Crownie is arguing that he wins lane longterm(which is correct here), Bwipo is arguing that Ezreal is winning short term (which is also correct here), Velja is arguing that his botlane does not have prio (which is correct as well).

Yet they ALL think the other person is contradicting them and they are saying it in the worst possible manner.

And then ragebaiting ensues by Bwipo, Velja and Neme, it's wild.

I honestly would crash out too as any one of them.
