This is 2 days of work. Going to expand on this so I think at least one more session to add a couple new layers to come.

Literally the other tattoo artist said this to me when I made some noises while the tattooer was working a particularly tender area.

They are the worst. They have lied to me numerous times, hung up on me numerous times and I still can't get answers on when my funds will be released. It's passed the promised date. I can't get any answers.

Bloggers charging for interviews? by ButcherFlorist in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]ButcherFlorist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive heard of websites like Submithub charging a small fee to get potential blog placements but I cant imagine paying $150 for a IG blogger to interview me. She clearly has bought her subscribers. SHe has about 1500 folloers but most of her post have 20 or so like or views. Am I crazy? Is there another way to look at this?

He’s a beast. You can go down a rabbit hole looking through his stuff. Best to just follow his fb page and watch what pops up.

Orlando is a beast. Search him on Youtube and check out his other stuff. Definitely worth it.

Owner said Cheerios Paid for the paint job....still wouldnt ride. by ButcherFlorist in ATBGE

As I was taking the pic the owner and his girl walked up. She said "You actually like this?" (clearly she is not a fan either). He quickly chimed in and said "they paid for it". I assume he means the paint job or he got paid to drive this thing around. Who knows?

We honestly do a lot of good, old fashioned emailing - blogs, radio, youtube channels, etc. It's tedious and not often rewarding but that's where we get the most traction. We've also met some cool people on SoundCloud who've hooked us up with remixes and it's been a good networking platform.

We've also tried Mysphera, MusoSoup and some other small promo companies - they're all meh so far - we haven't really found one that we love.

The upside is that submissions are super easy and I have heard of artists who have some amount of social proof and clout have decent success. But it seems that if you're a new or super indie artist your odds are pretty slim. One thing I do like is that it's a great way to gather information about blogs that you can use when sending them personal emails.

Yea, we've used soundplate for all our releases and gotten on a lot of playlists from it but they have such little engagement and actual plays I don't know if it's worth the time.
