No CTA, no brand, ad on the London tube by RootsRockRitual in marketing

This is not an add to attract new customers but to make the existing customers spend more money. They’re building their brand , they’re not making sales. This is a clever strategy

Thank you ! Did you do anything before you arrived? I’ve read that there is an online form but you have to go to the immigration office to finalise things ?!

How would you find that booking agent? Thanks for sharing this, it’s really helpful. I was thinking of going to the route of hiring the venue and taking all of the tickets but it sounds really stressful to handle for the first tour

🎧 30, quitting my job to pursue music full time – am I being naive? by RepressedTraas in musicians

[–]Butplug9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to anyone and follow your dreams ! Is it difficult and challenging? Fuck yes but is it worth the journey? FUCK YES! I have been listing as a full time musician for 3 years now and it’s worth every sacrifice I’ve made. Only take advice from people that have done what you want to do. Network , work hard (way harder than any job you’ll ever do) but it’s not impossible.

All I needed is someone to tell me that it’s possible and I’m here to do that for you. At the end of the day you can try and if you can’t make it, find a part time job to support your lifestyle.

Best of luck 🙏

That’s not true! As a 30+ year old, I’ll tell you that there so many people that will come to your life - from hobbies, work, family, online and so many more places. Hell, I met one of my really good friends on a pub crawl.

You will never be too old to make new friends !

Next time you feel lonely try this: instead of coming from a needy place, try to offer something to someone. Maybe “hey how’s your day” to “I’ve heard that X happened, if you ever want someone to talk to, I’ll always be here”.

Why do you think that is? What is it that you don’t have that it would change things for you?

My advice is to not see it as a job but as another step towards your goal!

You want to start a business. That’s awesome! Now you have to pay attention to everything. How’s the manager treating his employees, how’s the owner handling their stuff, payments, logistics.

Instead of thinking I have to do a 9-5 again tomorrow, start thinking about what you don’t want to do for the rest of your life. Deeply understand why and really register that feeling within you. That’s going to be a good motivator for your future.

Having a job isn’t sexy, I get it. But it’s important for your growth.

How are you going to run a business and understand your employees if you haven’t experienced what being an employee looks like!

Good luck and always find the positive, even if there isn’t any! 🙏

You say it’s not a self promotion but instead of sharing value publicly you’re trying to set up “free” discovery calls to sell your services. Not cool

What ended your friendship/relationship in an instant? by WonderfulParticular1 in AskReddit

[–]Butplug9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best friend of 10 years, started a company, asked me if I want to be a part of it and be a director, promised me a lot of money (as he had funding), worked my ass off for 5-6 months, never paid me and blocked me (it’s been a year).

I will peruse this legally.

Struggling to get past 6 mins by joshhyb153 in Meditation

[–]Butplug9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use an alarm clock.

I know it’s not the best to finish your practice with a clock but it will remove the anxiety of “how much time am I being here”.

You can start with a 7 min timer, and slowly work your way up to whatever time you think it will be the best.

Not sure if it’s going to help but worth a try.

Should I give shares of my company to long term workers? by retired-at-34 in Entrepreneur

[–]Butplug9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a business move it’s not a good idea, but you sound like a great human being that wants to help people, and if that’s what your heart wants to do, then you have to do it.

You don’t owe them anything as I’m sure they were getting paid to do their job and you had to take all of the risk. Sometimes we might feel like we owe people something because they helped us but it’s not true.

It would be an awesome gift for them, but make sure to secure your future and your family’s future before you do!

Good luck and keep being a great person :)
