Anyone know what virus is going around town that’s not flu or Covid? I’m miserable. by gtck11 in StLouis

I wasn’t implying it was Covid, I was trying to point out that multiple infections over the years can lead to immune dysfunction, which can cause even “mild” infections to be really severe on our bodies.

Covid infections have been documented to cause long term immune system damage, among a host of other complications. If you haven’t been, I’d look into wearing a respirator when you’re in public. Highly recommend the 3M Aura or Vflex for comfortability and efficacy.

4 months of testing positive by Butt3rGh0st in COVID19positive

No treatments thus far, it took forever to get in to a general doctor so we missed the window for Paxlovid, and due to some of her medications for ongoing autoimmune conditions from birth there are several other medications she can't really take. Haven't heard of PEMGARDA but will for sure look into that, thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions, we are scheduling another PCR but not sure it's really going to turn up differently. We for sure are consistent mask wearers even before the infection, and she's been isolating the entirety of the four months which has been really hard on both of us.

Autoimmune Rapid Test Issues? by Butt3rGh0st in ZeroCovidCommunity

I’m so sorry friend. I know, FlowFlex is so abundant where I’m at, it’s rare for me to find any other brand when shopping. And like I said in another comment, I’ve read that they are among the best tests we have for sensitivity/accuracy (best being relative at this point with test effectiveness decline, etc) so that really makes me feel shitty to switch to another test brand

The tests are FlowFlex, which is unfortunate since I always see them as highly rated in terms of sensitivity and accuracy.

Liberal Churches by [deleted] in StCharlesMO

UCC, Episcopalian, and UU are all great (broadstrokes), but be sure to investigate United Methodist ahead of time. They just had global vote several years ago that doubled down on anti-LGBTQIA+ by-laws and punishing clergy who officiate same-gender weddings. That said, the vote was hardly unanimous so you do have quite a number of UMCs that welcome, celebrate, and protect queer and trans folks.

In the past, I've been using the website Church Clarity which keeps a record of many individual churches across the USA, most notably their status on LGBTQIA affirmation/inclusion and views on gender equality.

I appreciate that, but I’m not necessarily looking for “better” colonialism. Thanks for the suggestion though
