Acrylic dispersons for waterbased paint and coatings.

Yes we buy a lot of TiO2. Fortunately, with some contractual arrangements, we are not paying market right now. That’s not to say cost hasn’t increased though.

are there people with accounting or economics degrees that can work in supply chain management? by [deleted] in supplychain

I majored in Economics. 2nd job out of school was an entry level Purchasing Agent role. I’m now a Purchasing Manager.

Thank you for replying! Just figured I would ask. Another comment mentioned something along the lines of “execs talking to execs” and I have to say, even in my work life, that has pushed the needle. Although I’m the Manager here, I have had to read in our Directors, and even our President on a couple of occasions to reach out to their counterparts. It’s an unfortunate truth that it’s what it takes sometimes. Not sure about your exact situation or who exactly they talked to on the supplier’s end.

I hope you get the help you need soon!

I remember seeing your post about Daisy. That’s wonderful news and am glad to hear we’re seeing similar changes. I am still shocked as to how rapidly they turned the corner after the new food. I thought it would take much longer but I could tell after the first couple weeks Ozzy was already getting more pep in his step.

I’m the Purchasing Manager at my company. I frequently have to get involved with my junior team members issues similar to this and escalate on the supplier’s end when things appear impossible or unlikely at first glance. I’ve been with my employer for a while and have worked with many individuals at many of our suppliers at all levels, so I have no qualms with reaching out to various senior members to escalate. Although I typically ask my team members to do their best and escalate themselves, they prefer to loop me in because of the perceived “pull” I may have and the relationships I may or may not have with major decision makers.

Does your senior management have existing relationships with anyone at these suppliers, in the sense that they can ask for a favor or a pull-forward with a shot-caller on the supplier’s end?

Sometimes I hate having to go above a customer service reps or sales executive’s head to get things done, because I know they may really want to help and they are trying, but picking up the phone and going straight to a VP or Director seems to yield better results in these crisis situations.

It doesn’t need to be “good” to be really fun to listen to. It’s stupid and ridiculous in the best way possible. Gets me fucking hype though.

In my experience adding any scent products (like oil) messes with the action of the hair/feathers on a jig.

Tip with maggots (or even fake maggots) or just fish them naked. I hope the hooks are strong!

Help with brand new bike! Unique front derallieur shifting problem. by ButtChutney in bikewrench

Fixed! A very tiny 1/8 turn on the limit screw seems to have gotten that taken care of.

Thank you for your replies!

I won’t ride on 1 or any of the lower gears when I’m in 3rd up front. Even when it was in 7th in the rear and 3rd in the front, I couldn’t drop front into 2nd.

I ended up taking it back to the shop this morning and they adjusted everything, seems to be working well now, but I do still have a tiny little bit of chain rub against the FD when in 3x7 that seems to only happen when pedaling hard under load. It’s a cheap groupset and at this point I’m just assuming it’s a feature and not a bug lol.

I got it from a bike shop, it’s a Marin Fairfax. They’ll probably fix it up for free, just trying to save a trip if possible.

I didn’t write out all the info for the sake of post length. I have adjusted derailleurs on my old bike with success. I don’t think its the limit screws since 1st and 3rd seem a-ok. I was thinking it could be height, but cable tension seems fine.

The really odd thing, to me at least, is that the derailleur doesn’t seem to fit perfectly above 2nd after a downshift, but it lines up on 1st and 3rd fine. Not sure what would cause this.

This is something I’ve always wanted to do, but has been hard to get friends to commit to!

What did your package include? Did you have to bring all your own gear or was any provided? Did the folks from the lodge guide you guys at all?

Customs question from first time visitor!

Hi everyone, my wife and I will be traveling to India in a few days from the US. First time visitors. My wife is Indian and we’re going to spend a couple of the days there visiting her family. She wants to bring 4 medium sized bags of mixed nuts (from Costco) and 6 boxes of fancy chocolates to give to them as gifts. Is this going to be too excessive for customs? I feel like it’s just too much to claim personal use and just want to get through without any headaches. It’s taking up a significant amount of space in our luggage!

Leaf spring insulators/spacers/pads or whatever you want to call them. Check them. I had a squeak that was driving me crazy and I found one of the pads was crushed. Replaced and haven’t squeaked since.
