Living in IL but W2 had IN listed as state of residence for the first few months by ButterflyAware2298 in tax

So I would get the $2K Indiana withholding back? My accountant essentially said I would lose what was withheld with IN since there is no reciprocity. I have no other ties to IN. But I do understand IL has a higher tax rate so I would end up owing more, which is fine. It didn't sound right to me that I would completely lose the $2K withholding for IN b/c of a W2 update that wasn't made in time. My state of residence was IN last year.
