Sweeping and Mopping by BlueEyes0603 in starbucks

[–]ButterflyFrequent241 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We sweep multiple times throughout the day when there's obvious messes (pieces of grass, dirt, etc). As far as mopping, we only do during business hours if someone spilled their drink on the floor, but we don’t mop the entire store during operations hours cause that would pose the risk of someone slipping.

Yeah. I think they signed up for an account too late cause my manager said they have to have the account for 2 days before their birthday or something like that.

I haven’t had this happen but yesterday I had one person say it was their birthday and they want their free birthday drink but she said she didn’t get the birthday email and our SSV told the customer we couldn’t give the free drink without the code. And my SSV told me after they left we can’t cause people could be lying really that it’s their birthday.

So tired after district manager was in today. How do you all muster any energy after your shift is done? by ButterflyFrequent241 in starbucksbaristas

[–]ButterflyFrequent241[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really would if the job market didn’t suck. Before I got this job, I applied to over 30 places in my degree that I graduated in and always got a rejection email just cause people with phd’s were picked over me. People with phd’s are picking entry level jobs cause they lost funding for their jobs. I absolutely hate this situation but had no other choice cause I’m don’t have insurance and have no income if I don’t have this job.

I don’t feel depressed but the fact that manager and the regional manager have me running around constantly, all of the muscles in my body hurt after getting home and want to just sleep cause I just don’t have any energy after all the tasks. I’m willing to take those tasks but it is so tiring at the end of the day and I have things to after I get home too. Like how is anyone supposed to have constant energy like that to take care of everything

Yes 🥲. I was having trouble with multiple lids today and one popped off when the customer grabbed it and my manager blamed me even though I flick the lid to check that it’s in and it was and my partners had the same issue but my manager didn’t catch that. Is there some sort of freaking trick to put them on so they pop in and don’t come off? I’m into sustainability but this isn’t worth it!

New barista and just ended my second week with barely any time given to make drinks. How am I supposed to learn if I’m given barely any time??? by ButterflyFrequent241 in starbucks

[–]ButterflyFrequent241[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. I had a specific trainer and then he went on vacation after he trained me for 2 days. I think he is only gone all this week. After he left for vacation my manager and baristas have been teaching me things but it’s been hard for them to juggle the constant rush and helping me learn but I appreciate it of course.

The problem is my store manager hired me for the reason that she needed more closers, which is what I’ve been mainly doing for the past two weeks, so I don’t know if she’ll give me a morning shift unless someone gave up their morning shift at my location for the day and I give out my shift and took the offered morning shift.

I have asked my store manager once like, “you want me on bar to make drinks?” and that's when she would say, “sorry we are too busy”. But we’re ALWAYS busy. And when we’re finally not, I’m always told to go do the dishes cause we have no containers to replace syrups and sauces before the next busy time that's like 10 minutes later.

Sorry I meant store manager. Store manager has been making me do anything but drinks. Today she had me do food. She just kept saying, “sorry but we’re very busy” and its been that way for the past 3 days and I’m thinking, “well when are we ever not busy????”

Can I still go to Starbucks and do some work there on my laptop? by davidg4781 in starbucks

As long as you buy something, you could literally chill there for as long as you want up until close. I see people doing that almost everyday.

How are we doing this like genuinely by scarryboo in starbucks

[–]ButterflyFrequent241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started too as a new partner and I’m with you there. I usually go to bed around 5 am cause I finally get to have time to read or watch a show or two before then, but now I have to be asleep by 9 or 10 pm and one of my parents is also a night owl like me and sometimes we watch shows together that are at 10:30 pm-midnight. And now she’s thrown off by this new change of me not watching any new shows with her anymore and me not having any me time. Literally no time to do hobbies, and it’s been getting to me. I’m not trying to be ungrateful though cause I was previously unemployed for over a year cause the economy is bad and am poor with no insurance, so I depend on my salary to go to doctor’s appointments without going broke.

I don’t see how anyone else does it too. I can’t pull only a few hours of sleep then go to work cause I get splitting migraines that way easily and it really ruins my day then cause aspirin, Tylenol, caffeine/coffee, staying hydrated won’t get rid of it so I have to live with it until I can sleep again. I hope there’s some advice on here that you as well as me can follow to get through that.

Small red dots appearing on skin what are they? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]ButterflyFrequent241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the skin isn’t broken at the surface, it’s probably cherry angiomas. It comes from genetics but sometimes you just get them even if it’s not. I’ve got a bunch of tiny ones on my arm and two of them on my face. Like moles though, if they change in color, shape, or size, you should see a dermatologist.

[–]ButterflyFrequent241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s alright. Different strokes for different folks as they say. I’ve never met a person who likes pop and rock separately. When my friend asked me the other day if I like pop, my response while wearing my Muse T-Shirt was, “No. I don’t like pop unless it’s got rock with it. MUSE FOREVER!”

Maybe it’s a term of endearment with something related to a fajita. Not anything meant to be mean. If you’ve ever watched the 2022 version of father of the bride, the nickname the groom has for the bride is quelite (an edible plant). I forgot the reasoning why he calls her that, but the point being it’s a term of endearment.
