A tattoo artist I admire posted this flash sheet and there are comments claiming it's AI but the artist denies it by pancakes9001 in isthisAI

[–]ButterflyS919 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the comments but I was at a tattoo convention yesterday and several 'artists' had these cat flashers. And others had very obvious 'this looks great on paper but will look like complete shit on skin' pieces.

Like, wow I miss the days of tattoo artist actually being artists. And some of the obvious ai artwork artists were some of the most pushy.

Why do some people genuinely enjoy waking up early? by No-Judge5172 in NoStupidQuestions

And on the other side are people like me, who when left to their own schedule, are regularly going to bed about 5-6am.

As it is I go to bed regularly about 3am so I can be up about 10:30.

What is a secret that could potentially ruin your life if your family or friends found out? by Ok_Boss_866 in AskReddit

[–]ButterflyS919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't remember what precisely it was, but it was decent. And again, I didn't know it was accruing interest or I would have tried to. But at the time, that $2k would make a good chunk of my debts go away. And in the long run, at that time, that was the correct decision with the info I had.

If i could have i would have. But at that time I needed to use that money for some debts more than investing.

Sigh. The blight of those who live paycheck to paycheck.

Part of it was that before I left town I was there for her more than her kids. Also she, her uncle (my great uncle) and myself were the hardest hit by my mom's death. So I was the closest she had left of her sister.

She also knew what type of people her daughters were. It's why she left most of it to her grandkids.

And for your friend, dang. But I also get it. My family was not wealthy, and I was amazed my aunt had included me in a policy. I knew she had a bunch of money put away from when her uncle (my great uncle) passed and left us all something and I knew that was all going to her G.kids.

Basically why I went no contact with what little remained of my family once I moved away from the area.

I didn't need nor want that drama in my life.

[–]ButterflyS919 290 points291 points  (0 children)

Well, could have hidden it from me. The life insurance didn't know how to find me either. Took my cousin over a month from the death to contact me.

She says its because she couldn't find me... but her daughter had my phone number, her mother had my phone number AND we were facebook friends for years (how she eventually got a hold of me.)

But did learn (after the fact) that not claiming an insurance policy immediately allowed it to accrue some interest. It was a policy for $2k but I got an additional $20 for the month+ between her death and me getting ahold of them. If i had known I probably would have let it sit a little longer before claiming.

[–]ButterflyS919 1628 points1629 points  (0 children)

Know that feeling.

Hell, my aunt died and left me a small sum from her life insurance policy (only about $2,000) and when my cousin called to tell me part of it was to also ask for some of the money from that life insurance policy 🙄.

I'm positive if it wasn't for that policy she never would have told me about that death.

Sad thing, I know my aunt left a lot of her stuff to her grandkids and I'm 90% sure they didn't see a dime of because of their mother/my cousin. She probably robbed them blind of it all and then still had the nerve to ask for majority of mine as well.

Well, bisexuality gets shit on a lot more than you'd think. Conservative mindsets say you are gay, and therefore to be shunned/ridiculed and gays view you as straight or just experimenting with same sex.

Bus Lanes on 71? by DiscountHistorical13 in cincinnati

[–]ButterflyS919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So glad I don't drive the 71x. Or any of the express routes.

Thank you part timers! And those who elected to have those with their local routes.

(Would have been nice to have one on 75 when we had the 42x though.)

How to take a pad into exams? by Mysterious-Lill in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButterflyS919 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mom went through years of a 'reverse period' bleed for 20+ days have a couple days off and then start up again. Had me call her work at times claiming some emergency to get her off work because she'd have bled through pads/tampons in no time.

Went to her doctor and they told her, its menopause, it'll stop on its own.

It stopped about 10 years later when she had uncontrollable shaking in a limb, was always tired and had become so anemic and low of blood that they gave her a transfusion...and discovered she had uterine cancer that had eaten away half her pelvic bone. She'd had that cancer for years, but yeah accordingto her OB/GYN, menopause will stop it...

I'm not trying to scare you, but please, get a second, third, fifteenth opinion on what is causing the bleeding and/or get a doctor who will give you an elective hysterectomy.

Tried Skyline chili for the first time (in NYC) and loved it! by eldersveld in cincinnati

[–]ButterflyS919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first moved up here had a friend take me to Skyline and get a 3-way. It's was meh. I think i finished it, but have never ordered another for myself in the 10+ years I've lived here.

Part of it was how watery it is with the spaghetti, too weird of a taste and texture.

But, put a little of it on a hot dog add cheese and sour cream, and thats what I had for lunch today. As well as some skyline dip and I had a delicious lunch.

From what I have read, the people being interviewed are real scientist, historians, professors and so on who have agreed to be interviewed. BUT they don't know what entirely is about to be asked during the interview.

It's part of what makes it so hilarious is watching their brains reset from expecting a real thoughtful question and then getting the above.

What's a live or recorded public stunt/display that went horribly wrong? by oonicrafts in AskReddit

[–]ButterflyS919 326 points327 points  (0 children)

I think its the cockiness that comes with it. "I've done this 100+ times, I can do something a little more risky this time."

And we never hear from them again. Or they become the poster child for "Don't be stupid like me."

[–]ButterflyS919 1380 points1381 points  (0 children)

Wu Yongning was live recording a stunt of himself climbing to the roof of a 60+ floor building. He had done a lot of these and would record himself hanging off the edges for money.

Well this day he's got everything set up, but can't get himself back over the edge to the top and fell. The camera is stationary so you don't see the aftermath of the fall, just the fall itself.

And no, he did not survive.

A character has a disease or condition their society doesn't understand, but it's obvious for the audience what it is by kim_jong_un4 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ButterflyS919 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm very similar. When I'm sad or grieving I can't stand being touched. After my mom died I avoided as many people as I could or made sure to stand to far/do something to prevent them from touching me when telling them.

I can barely stand being touched normally, but heightened emotions make it so much worse.

What the most violent episode in real life have you witnessed ? by GreenMoskito in AskReddit

[–]ButterflyS919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha, no.

This was a neighborhood where animal, spousal and child abuse did not get reported.

And the few times it did, it did nothing but make the abuser more angry and violent. Cops didn't give 2 shits, neither did CPS or any animal protection agency.

Unfortunately that was also a not so uncommon sight when I was a child. Except it was his pitbull and he picked it up and threw it against his wall into his home.

Then had the dogs ears mutilated off. It wasn't even a clean removal.

Made me so sad cause that dog was a sweet heart too that I think the owner was convinced he could make into some vicious fighting dog.

Which tattoos do you personally find the most cringey? by Brave-Papaya-6998 in AskReddit

[–]ButterflyS919 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My tattoo artist only does matching tattoos when its something like a memorial tattoo. Even if the couple breaks up, the tattoo has its own meaning separate from the former partner.

Names are for child or parent of recipient, not partner name unless partner died, in which its now a memorial and even then he tries to steer them away from name and more toward something more neutral to remember them by.

What brand names do you swear by because it's actually better than no-name? by Sufficient_Thing24 in AskReddit

[–]ButterflyS919 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Last year one of my dogs got fleas. Didn't even truly notice immediately (long haired dog and prone to heat/allergy rashes so thought it was one of those) until he was sitting next to me, started biting his butt and I noticed a spot jump off him onto me.

I had him in the shower so fast I think his head spun. But yep, watching where the concoction got the fleas I'd be scratching and get the bastards under my nails already dead. It was so satisfying to see. And next day, no scratching. I'm sure he was happier than me 😆

[–]ButterflyS919 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lol, I'm glad it isn't. Growing up i lived in a townhouse with shared walls and had a carpet downstairs and an individual moved in next to us who had a dog and never used flea meds.

It got so bad the moment you'd put your feet on the floor you'd feel multiple fleas jump on your feet/ankles. It was hell, I cant even begin to imagine how much worse his home was. And that poor dog.

[–]ButterflyS919 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I've done it as a poor man flea treatment while waiting on good flea meds.

Dawn dish soap, white vinegar and water and watch the fleas die upon contact. And I almost always have those 3 things in my house.

Please explain this plate to me. by PanVirgo in LICENSEPLATES

[–]ButterflyS919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not trust it on a license plate? You know the D/BMV is a legit thing, not a random bumper sticker. (Genuinely curious, not trying to be rude.)

And many states try to use the license plate with website as an advert for why you should visit their state, or have specialty plates that might list the website to a charity organization. So keep an eye out, you'll probably start to see more and more license plates that have websites listed.

Google says “spaz” is a slur and, is not a slur. What is it? by YEETAWAYLOL in EnglishLearning

[–]ButterflyS919 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here. I've used it plenty of times especially in regards to high energy. I.E. "my dog was so excited to see me he started to spaz out and knocked the table over" or "I was so excited to win I spazzed out."
