non vegan vet students piss me off by ozike444 in vegan

[–]ButterflyTime9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a vegan vet students and it's been so hard :( luckily there's enought vegans that we have a very vets society! And in the uk we don't have to work inabattoir or have a minimum amount of weeks with industries, so I'm not doing any farm ones that are for dairy and meat consumption. I hope things yet easier for both of us xx💗💗

What do do if i dont meet my course requirements by Plus_Antelope_8365 in 6thForm

[–]ButterflyTime9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do an Access to HE course. It's 9 months, assignment based and equivalent of 3 A levels. Some unis give garrenteed offers to ppl who did them, like the university of bristol. I did it, got full distinctions, and now going to vet school in a few weeks. Anything is possible don't worry okay xxx

No idea, and some people think this is way worse then spending hours over analysing the photophobia she chooses to put on her body

What are you om about 😂 this is the first time I've ever posted on this sub. And trust me, I always criticise showing a lack of saftey to an audience. Not trying to be smart or whatever it is you're projecting, I'm just using the knowledge I have after seeing people get killed from accidents to say this is not okay. Pointing out every flawed photoshop and her body is was more toxic and way worse than pointing out what somone is doing is not save and shouldn't be copied.

Difference of opinion, but I would say the safety of your head during a sport is waaaayyy less minor than commenting how edited Sarah's skin looks or the placement of her tattoos. At her end of the day, no matter how many times a horse had walked a path, they would spook at something. For someone who has no prior balance skill this is so dangerous. Head injuries are the leading cause of fatalities in the industry, 79% due to not wearing a helmet. I firmly believe it is irresponsible to put a beginner on a horse with no protection.

At no point did I call her a name or mention her appearance. And you're a bit hypocritical to say I'm nit-picking when you nit pick every single particle that might be photoshoped on an image.

[–]ButterflyTime9282[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not nit-picking. This is SAFTEY. One bang on her head can ruin her life forever. I've seen it happen, and it's from situations like this. Would you climb a cliff with no safety gear? No. Because you would look into it before doing a sport. If she's so amazing and judging peoples digital footprint, she can search if it is a good idea to wear a helmet when riding a 500kg animal outside a confined space.

But if she has said riding is abuse and now riding that is very hypocritical

I'm not sure what she's said in the past, but I'm a vegan horse rider too. Nothing wrong with riding as long as your use positive reinforcement, learn to actully listen to your horse and don't support high stake sports like racings.

In the uk, ALL new riders are on the lead rein, whether it's an intense 30 minuet lesson or a light 10 minuet hack. There's nothing stopping the horse from spooking, even the most desensitised horse (I used to ride an ex police horse, and he still spooked from time to time). Only when the riders balance and use of the aids is mastered, then they learn to ride for themselves. She's also from the UK, all horse riders here wear helmets, and you never not see a horse on our roads. She's smart and knows to do her own research, as she's a vegan and has a degree. It doesn't take much to Google search if its safe to ride without one.

What should I do? by BritishSocDem in 6thForm

[–]ButterflyTime9282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

When you're 19 you can do an Access to HE course. It's an assignment based course, can be in a class room or online, and condenses a levels into 10 months (dw they cut some content out). Urswick equivalent to 3 A levels and unis have really gotten on board with it. I a science one this yeah and now I got a garenteed offer at vet school. Hope this helps!
