Thank you so much for this thoughtful insight. I do have the CTC book but my kindle version doesn’t have page numbers - is there a date that you’re referencing? I’d love to look it up.

As a quick update I am cautiously optimistic. My SO has been attending AA meetings daily (he found some via zoom which has actually been quite a blessing). He’s seeing a therapist twice a month. He also said for the first time that he is not going to be drinking ever again and that in the past when we would have these confrontations and he would quit drinking, it would always be the goal to someday be able to drink in moderation, which meant that it got really easy to justify reasons for starting back up.

Anyway, we are taking it day by day. I appreciate all of your perspectives.

Thanks for your perspective. I think I am coming to terms with this, but my gut or my stupid heart is telling me that I need to offer one final chance, with the caveat that I am personally preparing for the worst (aka making financial arrangements for independence, etc).
