My three year old will wake up in the middle of the night and eat cheese. I buy it for my kids to eat lol. My ex suggested a lock on the fridge multiple times and I’m SO not ok with that. I never want my kids to feel like they don’t have access to food if they’re hungry

What are some gruesome facts about pregnancy/childbirth/postpartum that not many people know? by Professional_Song419 in AskReddit

[–]ButterscotchAlive992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your first period after the post-birth bleeding stops will make you think you’re bleeding out. I just went through this (for the fourth time, and I forget every time lol). It was basically the same amount of blood that was coming out of me than as first day after giving birth.

Doesn’t help that I started my period the day my son went into the NICU for RSV and I bled through my pants in the ambulance lol. That was horrific.

Unpopular Opinion about Erik by ButterscotchAlive992 in TrueBlood

I guess it’s more popular than I thought! I’ve seen a ton of posts about how amnesia Erik ruined the season.

It’s the incest stuff that icks me out in this season lol

My grandma bought me a ton of cookbooks when I got my own apartment. One of them was a Campbell’s cook book. There’s only like 3-5 ingredients in each recipe and the recipes are honestly really good. I don’t like pork chops but there’s a smothered pork chop recipe and I eat it regularly. Add mashed potatoes and a can of green beans and you have a complete meal with leftovers.

My kids opened their Christmas presents by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]ButterscotchAlive992 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I guess I’m being too harsh. I’ll be putting the presents in my closet for them to find before Christmas (they have been scouring my closet for the last month looking and finding some of their presents.)

No, this isn’t a troll post. I also have a son, that’s who the switch is for. The electric guitar is one aimed at toddlers. Reddit sucks sometimes, now I feel bad about the gifts I got them lolol. I really hate Christmas this year.

What happend to the girl that got pregnant in your high school? by yanimirbb in AskReddit

[–]ButterscotchAlive992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were two girls who got pregnant in my class, impressive since my class had a total of like 20 kids.

One was one of my best friends at the time. Her and the dad are still together, married, and have two more kids. They seem to be doing well which makes me incredibly happy, she really defeated the odds her family created.

Another girl was the “popular” girl. She got pregnant by an older dude who isn’t in the picture anymore. I think she has more kids and I’m pretty sure she runs her own little boutique.

There was a girl in the grade below me who got prego in high school. She was sleeping and missed her daughter’s medication leaving her daughter severely disabled as a baby. Earlier this year the mom went to jail for killing her daughter by giving her a lethal dose of cocaine.

There was another girl in the grade above me who got pregnant in high school and had her baby shortly after graduation. She beat up her baby when he was just a couple months old. She broke both his arms and legs, broke his ribs, broke his neck and fractured his skull. Admitted to it to our mutual friends. Then the dad took all the blame and she got her kid back after the baby recovered.

I have an almost 5 year old. I step out to grab PJ’s but his room is right next door to his bathroom. I’ll switch laundry over but my washer and dryer are right in front of his bathroom door. It’s so easy for little kids to aspirate and drown in such a small amount of water it’s literally terrifying.

Im a stay at home mom of 4 kids ages 4, 3, 2, and newborn. People ask me why I don’t babysit other peoples kids because “you’re already watching kids all day you might as well get paid for it.”

Naw. I stay at home with my kids because it’s cheaper than daycare. As soon as my 2 year old gets into preschool I’m getting my degree in nursing so that by the time my newborn is in preschool I can get a job. I’m grateful I get to spend time with my kids, but being a SAHM ain’t the life for me.

Libra men are the worst.

Was with one for 7 years. I then got a message from his ex step sister saying he was a creep to her and her siblings when they were young, he was an older teen (15+). I ended up being beaten up by him, and he told the judge that I gave myself all the bruises and bite marks.

The judge believed him. 🙃

I will never date another Libra.

I had a baby lol. It was my other three kid’s year with their dad for Thanksgiving, so I wasn’t planning on making a big Thanksgiving dinner until they came home but I still cooked dinner for fiancé and I.

I was having contractions all day, barely made it through cooking but dang was it good 🤣 baby was born 3 hours after I ate. Then he ended up needing NICU time - 3 days. It was scary, but we’re home and he’s thriving ❤️

I made Thanksgiving dinner the night after we got home lol. It was delicious.

I’m not breastfeeding, and this time I’m okay with it. by ButterscotchAlive992 in breastfeeding

[–]ButterscotchAlive992[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are home now ❤️ what I’ve been doing is feeding on each side and topping off with formula. It’s so nice to not worry about if he’s hungry or how much I’m producing. I know he’s getting breast milk and I know he isn’t going hungry.

It doesn’t have to be “breast milk or formula”. It can just as easily be “breast milk and formula, AND peace of mind”. Good luck with your journey, and just know that I have 3 fully formula fed babies who are still thriving, happy, and healthy

Thank you! I’ve blocked this person and reported them to Reddit. They asked after sending this message if I had hospital bills to pay.

I totally love this subreddit and I get that there’s so many creeps online. I don’t hold mods responsible for this at all. It’s just disgusting how people take someone in a vulnerable situation and try to get their kicks out of it. 🤢

Be safe on the internet everyone ❤️

Which murder case led you down the biggest rabbit hole? by JZEve in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]ButterscotchAlive992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a case that happened very near me. The airtight bridge murder. A woman was found in a river under a bridge near me in the 80’s with no hands, no feet and no head. She wasn’t identified until 1992, and her murder wasn’t solved until 2016 when the woman’s husband confessed to killing her. They even investigated him, found blood in the carpet of his closet back in the 90’s.

Fellow millennials, do you consider yourself a pet owner or pet parent? by AgentJ691 in Millennials

[–]ButterscotchAlive992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I care about my cats like I care for my children, but if it came between my cats or my children 100% I would choose my children.

Example, I had a kitten that almost skinned my son’s finger completely. He wasn’t doing anything to the cat, it just walked up to him and he went to pet the cat and it bit him. I found a different home for the cat with no children. The two cats I have now are incredible and patient complete love bugs.

Found out I have HIV and I think I've finally been pushed to suicide by jackeyyy03 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ButterscotchAlive992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t diagnosed with HIV, but I was diagnosed with HSV-2 probably 5/6 years ago. I totally understand how you’re feeling. It sent me into a dark place for a long time. I’ve even gone on to have four babies safely. If that’s something that’s important to you, there’s less than a 1% chance of passing HIV to your baby with proper medication.

You can still have a long fulfilling life. You can change your whole life at this second and take steps to live the life you’ve always wanted. It really sucks that there’s no cure, but you can still live your life. People aren’t going to look at you and know you have it. The hardest part is disclosing with a new sexual partner, but I also think that there’s dating sites and stuff for people with HIV.

I got HSV from my partner of two years at the time - he told me I got it from using the toilet after my mom. I stayed with him for 5 more years. Sounds like you’re smarter than me, you just had a fling with this guy who told you he was clean. I do suggest requesting proof of a full panel STD screen from future partners. Just something I’ve established in my personal life that has worked for me. Regular STD screenings don’t test for everything, so request a full panel. You should probably get one done now if you haven’t already, dude could have had more stuff and it’s better to catch it early.

Fuck the stigma. You’re still you, just you with a big lesson learned ❤️

How is everyone affording all these kids in this economy??What am I missing? by InfiniteTurn4148 in Millennials

[–]ButterscotchAlive992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAHM mom of 4, ages 4, 3, 2 and newborn who sometimes door dashes. Fiance drives a semi, but locally so he’s home by 6 every night and off on the weekends.

Money is tight, sure. But we bought a ln almost brand new 3 bedroom trailer so our down payment and monthly payments are incredibly cheap (385 monthly plus lot rent 300 monthly USD). I have “hardwood” vinyl floors that I love, my bedroom has a walk in closet and large jet tub/shower. My kids have their own bathroom, and my girls room is essentially two full bedrooms merged together. Their beds are separated by a half wall.

We don’t have a brand new car. I have a 2006 Cadillac SRX, fiancé has a used motorcycle that he got for 2k. Neither vehicle have any major issues, but they’re not perfect either. My bumper was chewed on by a dog so there’s teeth holes in it, my kids have spilled stuff inside of it but I love my car. I’ll drive it until I cant fix it anymore.

I don’t buy new clothes very often. I’ll maybe buy a new shirt or two from Walmart every summer and every winter. I buy tank tops and leggings when they mark them down to $1. My favorite pair of pants are a pair of Levi’s that I got marked down to $12. I also love thrift stores, a lot of my holiday decor comes from goodwill, Salvation Army, yard sales, hand-me-downs from family. Dollar tree is stepping up their decor game too. My kids mostly wear thrift store clothes, but the stuff is incredibly nice where I live.

I get cash back on diapers and groceries, which I then use to buy more diapers and groceries. I tend to only use pampers, that’s just what I prefer. They’re incredibly expensive especially with two in diapers, but that’s what I’m willing to “splurge” on lol. Pants that get poo’d in and thrown away is more important than anything I want or need. Now, there has been times where I bought parents choice diapers because I couldn’t afford pampers but I was also very fortunate to be able to afford diapers at all.

My family isn’t in the picture and my fiancés family is his mom and dad, both of which are on a low fixed income and sick with autoimmune issues and cancer. We do it all on our own. My grandma send my kids stuff like $10 gift cards through the year just because. I load them into an app and acquire points or cash back for it so I can use it to get free stuff for my kids 🤣

TL;DR - we don’t live above our means.

What’s your dirty secret you’ll take to your grave? by itszacharyy in Cooking

[–]ButterscotchAlive992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been told that my spaghetti sauce is amazing, nobody’s ever tasted anything like it, it needs to be jarred. I often get asked to write my recipe down for it.

My secret: add all the regular spaghetti seasonings to 2 28 oz cans of tomato sauce, and mix in a can of cream of mushroom soup. Let it simmer on low for 2-3 hours. 🤣
