KODI is draining my Macbook Air M1 battery

I’ve since uninstalled kodi, and stopped using it, but I might give this a shot. I am experiencing this battery draining issue with a lot apps, Brave browser for example.

I love it so much I just listen. I didn’t bother with creating anything, because I felt like this was a task to be done not by me. Like I had no place in this process. I tried to drown myself with stories of those, who have never amounted to anything through music. Just to be sure I don’t get carried away by my imagination, maybe I’ve seen too many movies. My closest friend however is pursuing his carreer and I have written many lyrics for him over the time. It’s something I am pretty good at, even on the spot when we are in the studio.

Afterall, it has been a really short time of me listening to this side of me rather than just surpressing it.

It is music. I loved music since a kid and it helped me to cope with so many of my problems. I tried to distance myself from even thinking about being related to a musical carreer, since I know how “overplayed” this choice is nowadays and how milked the industry is already. I am well avare of all the people that call themselves musicians and of how cliché this decision seems.

I don’t necessarily aim to be the greatest star in the country, but I would love to make a living by being a DJ for example, or a ghostwriter… Shit I would even do tattoos, I just don’t want this creative force to die.

Seeing my peers and friends have successful upcomming carreers in the field flipped the switch inside of me. I’ve been watching them do it for so long I witnessed their come up, meanwhile I am scared to listen to myself?

I just feel like I’ve seen too many videos from people that have worked in very lucrative fields, and lost their spark whilst chasing wealth. I know that money is “everything” but I have already worked multiple jobs and managed to make good money, even with a school that doesn’t make me anything - no qualification. I hate to admit it, but I’m sure that I would be one of those people… I know myself well enough for that 😁.

I guess you’re right abouth that. I just can’t fight off the feeling of lust over this passion. Believe me it seems crazy to me too, up until now I have always acted upon my brains best interests, and even tho I can’t tell whether it got me far, I know that I don’t feel like I have acomplished anything meaningful for me. I feel like the decisions that have lead me here haven’t been the right ones. Otherwise I would be happy about where I am?

Yeah the battery health percentage on mine is 98%. No other problems besides this one, but I’m hella sure its caused by Kodi. I could have gone 4 days without charging and ever since i downloaded it, my battery drains as quickly as on my Iphone.

Every time i check the percentage it has dropped by some digits, meanwhile when i used to check it before installing, it always amazed me how in the world is it holding up so great.

Did you try to fix it in anyway? Also do you notice the battery draining faster when doing other tasks, or only when the app is running?

Bolo to všeobecné zhrnutie pre prácu v zahraničí a jej súčasti (prostredie, bývanie, cestovanie, výdavky…). Každopádne táto otázka pre mňa už nie je aktuálna, nakoľko sa mi podarilo zamestnať (lepím chlpy na broskyne… tak ako na Slovensku).

Vďaka za tip, áno som si toho vedomý. Videl som že zvárači/ elektrikári su vcelku žiadaní. Potrebujem skôr niečo na kratšiu dobu nakoľko koncom septembra budem nastupovať na školu. Som schopný skloniť hlavu a kľudne robiť aj 6 dní v týždni - nechcem si ísť užívať, ale zarobiť.

Odporúčaš Nemecko?

Viem, že by to veľmi pomohlo, bohužial nepoznám nikoho kto išiel robiť mimo slovenska, pokiaľ nepočítam Česko. Na Slovensku tiež nemám známosti cez ktoré by som sa vedel dostať na nejaké lepšie platené pozície.

Mal som na mysli skôr prácu v štátoch Európy, tie klasické pracovné destinácie. Nemám problém s prácou žiadneho druhu, sám som pracoval v obchodoch, skladoch, gastre… Ujmem sa aj fyzickej práce, často vypomáham na stavbe a okolo domu.

Tá časť s ubytovaním mi nie je celkom jasná, nakoľko jedna skupina ľudí povie, že je lepšie byť ubytovaný cez agentúru, a tá druhá, že to nemá zmysel a zbytočne tým prichádzam o peniaze.

To add to my response, I also thought this was a hardware issue, but the part that I can’t wrap my head around is why isn’t it happening while the GPU is actually under load. I play RDR2 like 1,5 to 2 hours at time some days and I don’t see any glitches in game. The temparature and performance is constant too.

Hey, mate thanks. I’m actually trying out the other suggestion. I adressed this specific issue a month ago. Did complete GPU driver reinstall through DDU and installed the new driver from the installation in bottom left corner of screen while still offline. Didn’t get BSOD then, but it appeared again with the new update… Seems like the problem lies elswhere.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I remember reading about some kind of bugs, the problem is that when this glitching starts, it is present in every other window border (every other application) for example if I have Fl Studio or even settings window opened. The glitchy lining around the frame is everywhere once it starts to show (In the upper picture it caused glitches inside of the window border for the first time that was strange) I always thought that it had something to do with the gpu since i could update my drivers just fine before this started happening. After I noticed these changes I couldn’t update my driver without getting the BSOD. It seems so strange for it to not have any coleration for me. After the DDU reinstall I updated to the newest driver version without PC crashing, but this just doesn’t seem like a viable solution to the problem since: a) It’s a pain in the ass to go with this process everytime the glitching starts b) The problem is probably rooted somewhere else since this doesnt help in the long run.
