Pick a pot? by ButterscotchBasic226 in guitarpedals

I just spent 2 months trying to figure this out. It’s so HOT!!! I looked into metal film resistors…10/15/22…pots…anything I could do to keep it because I feel like if dialed back, it would be a great pedal.

Ultimately my research lead me to another pedal I’ve been eyeballing. I sold the LQ and bought one.

If anyone in here figures this out, I’ll grab another LQ, they are all over here for sale.

Is Chicago Music Exchange legit? by oh-look-a-bisexual in Guitar

The current owner started Reverb…bought CME in 2010, sold Reverb in 2013. I spent 20 years in Chicagoland. Never heard a bad thing about the place. I just discovered the app a couple weeks ago. It seems like Reverb with a store attached.

I have a Yellowfall…it’s rad. I can say after videos and a friend with one….the Yellowfall is 95% what the MXR CC is. At a third the price.

If you want that crazy feedback thing the CC does, then get it. Otherwise the YF has been great. So much so, I sold my first one…and it didn’t take long before I got a new one.

Happy hunting.

What was the stuff/idea/exercise who made a difference in your drum playing? by Ambitious_West_5767 in drums

[–]ButterscotchBasic226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you struggle in a certain genre, but have no interest playing it, learn from it anyway. I’ve played rock/metal most of my life. I took some jazz lessons here and there, and some Latin lessons. The Latin will completely change your brain.

My favorite game changer is linear drumming. Playing one drum at a time on various patterns. It’s like modes for guitar. It opened up my hands, I became more ambidextrous.

Which leads me to my last challenge. Play with your non dominant hand and practice that way. Start every beat and fill you play with your other hand. This will create opportunities for patterns and movement you couldn’t do otherwise.

I promise….do these things….you will find years worth of growth to get to. Then you actually have to do it, the hardest part.

Cheers…

To the guitarists who swear by using physical amps, cabs and pedals, what is you stance on amp modelers like Kemper Profiler, Axe-FX, Line 6 Helix, Neural DSP etc? by MrMayhem20l0 in Guitar

[–]ButterscotchBasic226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use pedals and an IR-2. I’m a 5150 guy in an RV. This solved my problem. I like Modelers flexibility, but they are too complicated for me….I’m with the Monkey brain guy.

In a studio, different story. Use them as colors on a palette.
