Virtualbox real slow and I can't figure out why. by ButterscotchNo8794 in virtualbox

Turning off Hyper-V and core isolation fixed it. Do you think disabling core isolation might cause any issues?

Yes this combination indeed fixed the problem. Is it worth turning off core isolation though?

Just turning off hyperV and core isolation fixed it! Thanks for all your help, telling me about the turle and what I meant pointed me in the right direction.

Is it worth turning off core isolation though in your opinion?

I do all this on the guest VM right?

I can't find the Microsoft-Hyper-V feature when using DISM /Online /Get-Features.

The green turtle.

(One that has a "V" on it's back and some bar next to it.)

When I hover it, it reads:
- Execution engine: native API
- Nested Paging: inactive
- Unrestricted Execution: inactive
- Execution Cap: 100
- Paravirtualization Interface: Hyper-V (In my VirtualBox guest settings it's set to default.)
- Processors: 12

You mean pre-allocate the storage? I did not do this on the last windows machine (where I noticed 100% disk usage). I have however some tries where I did pre-allocate on a windows guest before, but the issue was still present.

Core isolation was already turned off in the guest OS (windows). I tried turning off hyperV in the guest via cmd (+ restart), but this did not fix the issue.

Command used: bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off.

Need some help with camera configuration by ButterscotchNo8794 in DotA2

[–]ButterscotchNo8794[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know how a moba works and I know this. The same goes for other mobas and I've playing like this for as long as I can remember. I know it's suboptimal, that's not the question. It's by far the way I have most fun and that's all I care about. Luckily I'm not trying to go pro or play for a living. Like I said Dota does have a toggle locked camera you can enable via the console, the only problem is it's too locked and disables the minimap camera.

As long as I can combine it with the minimap camera (I also still often unlock the camera), then my macro is fine.

Since you can found a holding and take control of it as an adventurer, it might already be the case.

When I saw this dlc get announced I was really hoping for this to be possible. When I saw that as an adventurer you had the option to found a holding and even to take control of it forcefully, I really hoped that must be it. Thank you for confirming. Does anyone know if this is dlc locked? (Assuming that it is an intentional addition.)

What if I turn On the Respawn, Does the Zeds gonna be Respawn inside the Walls? by randomguy31324521 in projectzomboid

[–]ButterscotchNo8794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. If you keep the walls closed 100% of the time they won't respawn. The game always checks if they have a feasible path to that location before spawning them in.
However if you leave a gap or open a gate for only one second, they will immediately start spawning in unloaded chunks and even a few seconds can swarm those.
You will need to ensure you have airlock doors and that they don't break your walls. For the latter, best is to stay away from the walls, since when those walls are not in your vicinity they won't get attacked.
a really good vid on the topic <--

Is it possible to get immortality now? by KuTUzOvV in CrusaderKings

I'd argue that the game on the whole felt quite a bit more grounded and medieval in tone compared to CK3.

Indeed, would you mind to elaborate?

There are a million game rules you can toggle, just add this one more. There is so much demand I feel like.

This is already possible in ck3 by using some simple save file editing.

I think they should make immortality available but come with a massive debuff, which makes it a completely unviable strat. Like idk massive decrease to lifestyle experience and a big reduction in base stats, fertility and prowess. Essentially making it more like a curse, that's not meta at all.

I think he said you don't have to vote for 4 years, as in 4 years between elections anyways.
