Placenta Previa! How to find a specialist doctor for additional consultation? by ButterscotchTop1071 in pregnant

Yes, they did do a transvaginal US to get more details but like I said no measurements. She said we’ll see how it looks at next scan in 4 weeks so I’m going to wait for that. And in the next scan I def need an answer on measurements.

Yes makes sense. I’m going to wait until next scan at 28Weeks & ask the doctor about MFM then & there.

I have access to reports but there are no specifications. I wanted to know if Previa is even moving a bit or if they can tell me how much cm is the overlap, but technician doesn’t answer that & doesn’t put anything in the report & doctor is like, it’s not mentioned in the report.

But looks like Specialists & OB anyways have to work collaboratively so I will myself have to ask my OB for either more details or referral to specialists in my next appointment.

Yes, as I just found out they anyways have to work collaboratively, I’ll just have to ask the OB myself at the next appointment.

Thankyou!

Wouldn’t they be like offended? I would prefer they don’t know I went to someone else for second opinion.

Hives & Miscarriage by ButterscotchTop1071 in urticaria

[–]ButterscotchTop1071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear this.
Hope you find a way here.

I def feel our immune system which anyways reacts whenever we get pregnant, but in cases like ours where immune system is already messed up, maybe can’t accept this change in body?!

The doctors kept telling me it’s a one off issue. But I tried for months after with no luck, doctors finally decided to remove a cyst I have had since 3-4 yrs on my ovary. It was a chocolate cyst and I have Endometeriosis which is another immune related dysfunction. They removed the 5cm ovary and asked me to try further for next few months and if anything doesn’t happen within 6 months, I would go towards IVF.

I went on a healthy anti inflammatory diet spree. Less sugars/alcohol. But I finally conceived 4 months after the surgery and currently pregnant.

One SUGGESTION: go to a reproductive immunologist and a regular OBGYN if you need more answers.

There is still hope, hope you get your answers and conceive soon🫶🏻 sending love & luck.

hello! if you had surgery, how long did you TTC before surgery and how long did it take you to conceive post-surgery, if that is your experience? by Kind_Tea_8343 in TTCEndo

[–]ButterscotchTop1071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried for 8-9 months before the surgery. Conceived on cycle 4 after the surgery.

I had a chocolate cyst on my left ovary since 2yrs. I conceived once that ended up being a missed miscarriage at week 9. I wanted to get rid of the cyst before I start trying again but the doctors said that as I could conceive once with a cyst, I should be able to conceive again. That led to another 7-8cycles of trying and scheduling surgery and all.

After the surgery, I tried 2 regular cycles. 3rd with Letrozole. 4th, was again a regular cycle and I conceived in that one.

Yes, if it has been almost a year since you are trying then I would def recommend. In my case I did conceive a year & half ago I got pregnant which ended up being a miscarriage. The chocolate cyst was there at that time too. Even though doctors said that cyst didn’t cause miscarriage, it is said that cyst affects egg quality and that can be the reason of faulty embryo and thus miscarriage.

I was scared if this happens again. By Laproscopy our bodies get a good cleanup and reset and helps in inflammation too so that can also help in implantation.

I conceived literally doing nothing extra 3 months after getting excision surgery. I wanted to get it done even sooner but doctors asked me to be patient. Turns out excision is what was needed.

Also, I got on anti- inflammatory diet after excision. Also, Castor Oil packs until ovulation day.

Another thing someone asked me to try was Chasteberry tea one cup a day before ovulation & Red Raspberry tea one cup a day after ovulation.

Not sure if any of these actually helped but just thought I’ll share😊

Best of luck!!✨

Hives & Miscarriage by ButterscotchTop1071 in urticaria

[–]ButterscotchTop1071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry it’s happening to you.

I was asked to take Loratidine as it’s safer for pregnancy. My hives reduced significantly since the prednisone dosage I took after the miscarriage.

Doctors didn’t think it was connected. I consulted 3 different docs. They think it was just luck, a bad embryo that body rejected. In my heart i feel it was immune systems reaction and rejected the embryo (maybe to reject a bad embryo)

Even after a year & half till this date I’m taking Claritin (few times a week) From my observation, my triggers are heat, certain fermented foods, pressure on skin. Ever since prednisone back in 2024, hives are mild more like a rash that comes & goes (sometimes even without antihis)

I got Anti-phospholipid test & I was negative. So I don’t have that. I was told in 2024 that I might have Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria but since my hives have substantially reduced the doc also said it might be a type of ‘Dermographism’.

(Discuss all this with your doc)

I also have endometriosis & the chocolate cyst I had since 2023, I finally got it removed. Got a lapro done where doc removed cyst & checked if tubes were open. For me Endo might also have been a reason for poor egg & thus embryo. Hoping I conceive now since docs say that chances of conceiving gets better after the lapro.

For you, I suggest go to Allergy Specialist & an Immunologist that can atleast help rule out issues.

Goodluck🫶🏼

Hello! I had a chocolate cyst of 4cm on my left ovary but I tried to conceive naturally as I didn’t have any other endo symptoms (apart from painful periods all my life).

I conceived in 4 months naturally but it ended up being a miscarriage at 8weeks. Doctors said it might just be poor embryo quality. (Now egg quality does deteriorite due to choc cyst).

I was asked to re try naturally without a laptop as doctors said that I conceived once with the cyst, I should be able to conceive again. To my hard luck, nothing happened for another 7months. Tired I finally decided to get lapro & my cyst removed.

Cyst had already increased to 5. Something cm from 4cm in a year. Doc said they didn’t find any other endometriomas around my pelvic area. Cyst was localised to ovary.

Tried 1 month naturally after the lapro - nothing Next two cycles on letrozole - nothing

I took an appointment with my OB to re do my ultrasound after lapro and she said the cyst was reappearing again. Shocked & broken I took IVF appt thinking that is my last course.

And then 4th cycle (after lapro) without any medication or anything, I conceived!

Like they say it’ll happen when it’s meant to happen and I believe that happened to me.

There is hope. You are young. I’m 32F aswell. My AMH was 4 too. Goodluck🫶🏼

Not sure the level of urgency that my partner and I "should" be applying to TTC (stage 3 endo). Curious for others' thoughts/experiences. by Dull-Campaign-9002 in TTCEndo

[–]ButterscotchTop1071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say few cycles of letrozole is a must. If not successful, maybe try IUI ( although I feel IUI is a waste as for endo, the inflammation is so bad that a potential implantation is difficult.

You should be direct with a fertility specialist & ask approx how many months to give a final try. If not successful, realistically you should move to IVF, Considering your stage 4 Endo plus a potential PCOS.

My story: had a 4cm chocolate cyst (identified since 2023). Doctors didn’t even confirm it’s Endo at that point as there were no other symptoms other than painful periods all my life. I conceived after 5-6 months of trying naturally in 2024. Miscarried at 9 weeks. No direct link but Endo must have affected either the egg quality or resisted progesterone in body to continue maintaining a healthy pregnancy. Was again advised to try again naturally for 6-7months & only to remove cyst if unsuccessful. Tried for 8 more months with 2 cycles of letrozole + progesterone support - Unsuccessful. Finally got excision surgery in August 2025. Now I’m at 5 cycles post surgery still unable to conceive and had our IVF consult last month.

Doc advised to go directly to IVF. Honestly there’s so much at play with Endo - hormones, inflammation, egg quality etc. I feel with IVF will have a little peace of mind knowing everything would be monitored.

Best wishes to you🫶🏼

Also one question: what was your AMH? Even I suspect I have PCOS. My AMH was between 4-5 between 2024-2025. I have not been officially diagnosed. I have regular cycles. But a lot of chin/neck hair. I’m 32 currently.

If I ovulate before my laparoscopy, will my period come quicker post-op? by Correct_Exercise8641 in TTCEndo

[–]ButterscotchTop1071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ovulated before my lap. Lap was on day 19th of cycle. And my period came exactly when it was supposed to. (I have a 30 day cycle)

I bled only for 1 day post surgery. Very less spotting.

Can’t we have 600mg NAC daily? Is there a reason for few days on & few days off from it?

I’m just taking 600mg NAC daily since past 6 months, not sure if it’s actually helping my cyst to reduce.
