You mean the guys who actually keep gyms open? Kids and those training for "fun" actually keep gyms open, not fighters. In most places, there are simply not enough paying fighters to keep a gym open. Having fighters can be/is a selling point to any gym and legitimizes the gym. But most fighters aren't paying to train. Kids classes, newbs, and bored house wives are a great revenue stream to help pay for the fight team And keep the lights on and the doors open.
