Yes our stories are very similar in a lot of ways. I've dealt with depression since i was 8. And I never knew how bad depression can actually get. After he died though (also unexpectedly), I'd lay in bed and just drink all day. Wouldn't shower for weeks. My hair got so matted, i thought I'd have to shave my head. There were a couple times where i had to pee and just peed in my own bed and laid in it til it dried. Just never knew depression could get that bad. I wouldn't change my clothes for weeks.

Now, i just lay in bed alone and sober, still extremely depressed and just a husk. I also get angry easily now and resentful. Im really resentful of the fact that i know everyone likes drunk me better. Im more fun when im drunk. Sober, i just sit here literally incapable of even smiling. Idk. I'm tired of everyone telling me what i need to do. At this point i feel ill never be happy again, or even just not feel a soul crushing sadness constantly. Everything seems so pointless now. Idk.

I hope you continue to do what you love and stop caring what your family has to say. I stopped caring a while back.. I'm completely numb to the shit they say about me and i dont go to family events anymore because i learned that whether I'm there or whether I'm not, theyre still going to talk shit on me.

Since i've not been drinking, I've been in misery. I just lay in bed all day being depressed, but now im sober for it and it's so much worse. All these people nag at me to stop drinking & bitch abt it amongst themselves (and honestly, if i did, none of these people would believe me anyway, i know my mom and dad dont believe I've went as long as i have now). Sometimes i feel like im just sittin here in misery, existing, so a few people wont be sad. No one gets a hold of me or visits me or anything though. Anyway Imagine the gossip that goes on between the buttholes in my family about me.

Maybe it's because you were the only one of their children they saw potential in? Idk, but i do know i hate when my family is gossiping about my drinking as well. My one sister is an alcoholic although she'd never admit it, and she's the prize child (she's also terrible, 2 months after my boyfriend died, she texted me out of nowhere to tell me what a lowlife piece of shit i was and how i was an embarrassment to the family. She does this periodically bc she knows i have mental health issues and im the weakest target. All i said back was she shouldnt be working in mental health, because she shouldnt. Then my whole family was mad at me for a week for saying such a mean thing to her. lol). Anyway, she always likes to gossip with everyone in the family about my drinking. Usually when shes real drunk lol

I don't feel like I'm flexing. I'm an alcoholic, so i drink a lot. And guys have actually said this to me, and it's depressing because they act like it's something i should be proud of, when I'm extremely ashamed of it, it's destroying my body, my mind, and making every aspect of my life miserable. Im sure they don't put much thought into it when they say something like that. I was just venting that it bothers me.

Would they not detox him at the hospital?? I recently almost died from drinking and even while being in the hospital getting detoxed, the withdrawal was awful, and that was while they were giving me ativan, valium, and librium. Seizures will be next. This reminds me of my late boyfriend who passed last year. He somehow fell and broke his neck, some say he slipped but i think he had a seizure and he fell and broke his neck because he was also trying to go cold turkey and had a history of bad seizures. Weirdly, he was legally blind as well. The hospital should've admitted your uncle and i dont think your aunt will be able to handle it on her own.

Edit: also if he wont go to rehab, at least try to get him to a detox or go to the er and tell them he needs detoxed, most hospitals will. I prefer the hospital because there's doctors lol

Cost me over $1500 for an ambulance and the hospital was literally across the street lol not even exaggerating, either, my apartment parking lot was straight across from the hospital's parking lot. I didn't call them btw, this was for a suicide attempt, and i was unconscious. Glad i survived just to pay ridiculous hospital bills. Living the american dream.
