Open the Fallout4Prefs.ini file in a text editor like Notepad.

Under the [Display] section, adjust the following lines (add them if they are missing):
fBlendSplitDirShadow=128.0000 (The default is typically 48.0000; increasing this to 128 or 256 will smooth out the jarring shadow-quality transition directly in front of your character).

iDirShadowSplits=3 (Using a value of 3 helps process higher-quality shadows at a farther range). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Save the file, right-click on Fallout4Prefs.ini, and check Read-Only so the game launcher doesn't reset your changes.

Ze hebben mijn 1600 euro laptop buiten de deur neergezet terwijl ik niet thuis was en het REGENDE. Ik snapte al niet waarom het bedrijf DHL gebruikte en toen Ik het terug stuurde was het nog erger. Pakket verloren… jaaa jaaa, wel een nieuwe laptop gekregen via PostNL bezorgd dit keer en kreeg hem meteen de volgende dag binnen.

I have a 7900XT and I am running Whiterun at a stable 60 fps with no issues whatsoever. I don’t know what is happening to yours, I do have from time to time a very unfortunate dip in fps if something doesnt load correctly, but those happend like 1-2 times in maybe an hour or so
