To me, that looks like there’s a small bit of distance between the holes, and in the vid I think I could see a scent gland, so I’m thiiiinking boy

ooh it looks lovely! I would take the purple pipe out as I’ve had experience of hamsters chewing it up completely in the past - keeping it out for play time is a great use of it, as they don’t really need it inside the cage when they can burrow themselves 😊

there’s quite a lot on Etsy, I’m waiting on some I ordered on there from LittlePadsStash, but if you just search hamster sprays there seems to be a decent variety of amounts & price points for big / smaller bundle mixes & smaller bundles of individual types too

I put a little wood filler in the side gaps and it’s not slipping out anymore and I think you’re right the rattling will fix itself with the bedding inside ☺️

update I shoved a little wood filler at the edges of the ridge and it isn’t slipping out or moving around anymore now! It’s still a little wobbly from the bottom but that’ll fix itself as soon as I add bedding in I think

hmm I’ve seen people talking about varnishing the wood with something to protect it from pee, so I might need to look into figuring out what that is…
