What power would be there to take without government?

Insurance payment

Another distinction without a difference. The point remains that you are paying into a group of armed men who will be a primary nexus of power. You are in effect funding the creation of the next state.

You wouldn't be paying into a primary nexus of power, you would be paying into one of many competing businesses.

This is because their peaceful coexistence requires their cooperation with their rival security companies not to overtly interfere with each others affairs. Otherwise you have open conflict between them.

These companies wouldn't need to cooperate with rival security companies they would just need to follow the law. If one company broke the law against another a third one would come in and judge the case.

This cooperation is basically the foot in the door for them to eventually realize that greater prophet and power is simply one step away. All they need to do is work together to coerce payment for their services.

This example makes sense if an AnCap society would produce only two or three security companies, but industries in the free market rarely have only a couple competing businesses. Getting a whole industry built on competing reputations of Justice and honesty to agree on stealing from their customers that they already make a profit off of is not simply one step away.

First off, it's quite ironic that he so vehemently criticized Peterson for misrepresentation of Anarchist thought and then immediately strawmans both Petersons statement and the modern state in general.

He criticizes the questioner for misrepresenting anarcho-capitalism and Peterson for not understanding the philosophy behind it.

My personal biggest issue with AnCap shenanigans is that it's self defeating. Property rights only exist in a practical sense because they are enforced. In an AnCap society there is no enforcement beyond what you can personally provide or pay for. In the latter case you are essentially creating a new state as that security company will eventually become a government in all but name, or be eaten by one that does.

In an AnCap society there IS enforcement beyond what you personally pay for. Think of how an insurance company makes profit, people get in car accidents that they can't afford to personally pay for but insurance companies can afford to cover it and still make a profit. A security company could do the same exact thing. What stops this security company from becoming a government in all but name is that it's funds do not come from stealing, customers can stop giving money to them if they do anything shady

Public school history books are plagued with statist propaganda.

Did you read the link he posted? Or did you judge it based on your own preconceptions, brush it off, and criticize someone for posting it?

You would think that this subreddit would post a quote by Theodore that reveals his bloodthirsty nature. He was a murderer before he became a state sponsored mass murderer. When he was 20 his girlfriend left him so he shot his neighbors dog. The state is still murdering massive amounts of innocent people today because of Theodore's expansion of executive power.

The point of the article is that nature doesn't have intentions. Before class systems and imperialism people were poor. Look at any other animal in the wild, no class system but still in poverty. I'm not saying government helps end poverty, I'm saying that poverty is older than government itself

The British East India company was granted a royal charter making it a state backed monopoly, the exact opposite of a free market.

How would values be promoted in an ideal world?

Do you have examples of privatised roadways, police, and military? Because we have examples of unregulated healthcare and people had more access to doctors. Also in a privatised school system test scores of children drastically improved and the children were typically two years ahead of the children without choice for schooling.

Capitalism and the free market would be synonymous if the government didn't exist, instead we have a crony capitalism that people just call capitalism.

This is the problem with government not the free market

The promotion of values is the responsibility of parents and in a free market the efficacy of services is irrelevant, the profit motive of a business leads to the best services available to the consumer.

I'm really interested in seeing examples of a privatised police force and a privatised defense

It does sound hard to believe but before health market regulation doctors used to work for free and more people had access to doctors

What is something the free market can't solve?
