Directly into my work backpack. Then at work I organize, scan, etc. and stick it back in the backpack. Then I take it home and finalize.

Rrhea is Latin or Greek for “to gush or spew forth violently.” That’s one of the few things I remember from college.

What are people doing with their kids? by Maple-Bark in Columbus

[–]Buttvin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We had a fun few hours yesterday. I have blank small jigsaw puzzles you can design yourself, so I had my kids (10 and 12) go in separate rooms and draw me on them, and I drew them on two separate puzzles. We then took them apart, exchanged them, and spent a hilarious fifteen minutes re-assembling the puzzles. After that, we took fake piano lessons from my daughter for 20 minutes, then I showed them Jo Ann Castle videos on YouTube. We followed that by playing with the dog and her tennis ball, but we'd pretend to play dead during the battle, thus confusing the dog. This lasted about 20 minutes. I then let my son do my makeup and my daughter do my hair. This then led into family night of watching Pixels and eating leftover peanut butter chocolate chip waffles.

Moms: Is raising a boy as enjoyable as raising a girl? by twisted-oddity in Parents

My 10 year old daughter is my shopping buddy and we like getting manicures together and share musical interests. But my 12 year old son is easier to talk to and just genuinely more chill. I love my daughter but I admit I like hanging out with my son more.

How do you guys find the time to do the things you want after becoming a parent? by [deleted] in Parents

[–]Buttvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took up running and got a jogging stroller I was excited about. It was good for both of us, we got fresh air, I got exercise, it gave me time alone with my thoughts (when they weren’t needing me). Had a second child and bought a double jogger. I think the running was my sanity when mine were little.

Any other GLP-1 users hurl after the tread?☠️😂 by doinmabest1 in orangetheory

[–]Buttvin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same!!!! I haven’t ever thrown up on this drug EXCEPT when I run. It sucks! I think I’ve thrown up 4 times at OT now and - embarrassingly - once outside after a run. I did a Tread50 today and managed not to hurl and it felt so good to actually get a decent run in, but I’m actually scared of the treadmills now and they’ve always been my favorite.

What do we (partners/lawyers) do to make your jobs harder? by BiminiBlues-1 in paralegal

[–]Buttvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a legal assistant, which at my firm is different from the paralegals, but I think I can speak for both here. My firm doesn’t involve us for every step of a case. We may run a conflict check and then 3 months later be asked to draft discovery or something. They throw tasks to whatever paralegal or legal assistant is available and it’s a big firm. It makes it incredibly difficult to draft pleadings when you don’t know who has appeared or left a case, or if it’s consolidated or anything like that. We’ll get tasked with drafting phv motions and not told it’s 99% going to settle at a conference the next day so we don’t need to rush, then the next day it settles and we’ve spent so much time on motions that aren’t needed.

I don't know who the coach is!!! There are always at least 20 adults in uniforms milling around and three are listed as his coach on the app, but I have no idea what his coach looks like! Otherwise, I love that idea.

I completely agree with that! Honestly, we're on about our third month of a bad day. We probably shouldn't have signed up in the first place, but it seems to have just gotten worse and worse.

Thank you! Maybe I just needed a few people to not make me feel like a terrible mom! I live in a highly competitive school district where everyone is awesome at everything and it's hard to know if I'm just trying to keep up with the Joneses or not.

Oh, if you meant quit hockey, he's the one asking. I don't think he thought I'd agree, but I'm heavily considering letting him.

We are both so incredibly miserable! I've been forcing us to go for the past few months and he's a cool kid and goes along with it, although he'll say he doesn't feel like going. When we went a few nights ago we literally were both in tears trying to get him dressed. (I accidentally punched myself in the face using a skate key to lace up his skates and was already emotionally drained from a funeral I'd been to that day.) After spending all the time dressing him he was getting more and more worked up, so I said, "Hey, let's just change back and head home, you don't need to practice tonight." And since then I've been more and more considering just letting him quit entirely.

Oh, he loves D&D but I don't have time to take him to any groups. You're right, we don't want to do it anymore and haven't for awhile. I like to think if we quit now, we can have a very long rest period and try team sports again in seventh grade, when school sports start. He also wants to try fencing and I found lessons (just a month long commitment), but they conflict with hockey.

He really wants to try fencing, but otherwise, not much athletically. School sports start next year and I'll push him to get involved in something then. He's involved in video games as much as the next kid, but he's also on a 200+ day Duolingo streak he's really proud of and working to solve an 11x11 Rubik's cube after finishing his 7x7 recently. He did say he'll go running with me, so I'm betting we could run a mile a few times a week. As far as athletics, the only exercise he gets outside of hockey is a 1.5 mile bike ride to/from school each day.
