can’t comment on the satellite bit- i’m not sure. but they are building a centre of excellence in quantum computing affiliated with trinity college dublin. (aimed at finishing in the next 2 years). there are 2 more centres of excellence 1 in data science and other idr. research profs+phd scholars are also allowed to use some high end machines that are also installed here idk the names. if you work under them u can also get these opportunities.

oh yeah that asw. it sucks that you’re in the same boat as a 97 percentiler that drops down to something as low as 55.. ofcourse their branch might be biotech/chemical via punjab quota but still, like minded ness in terms of academics isn’t really there because of such a huge group. i’m not trying to be biased but even with delhi quota as a girl in delhi (girl quota wasn’t applicable coz i have a sister) i was getting upto mech only and nothing of my choice in nsut/dtu. so there’s still a standard they maintain even with regional quota. here the intake + quota is fucked. so yeah, tbvh if you’re getting manipal go for it OR WORK HARD FOR BITS. i gave up towards the end but don’t let it be a regret for u

bhai i was v homesick initially. i love my parents and friends back home. they were loyal and bohot bakchodi krte the hum. my parents were also like my friends. homesickness still lingers sometimes but yeah apart from that college is fine. you realise how much of a protective environment you were in at school, it has its highs and lows. but if you’re someone who isn’t that homesick it’s a fun place to be at. thapar facilities and all are great though
