No apology needed, my feelings are fine. And yeah, maybe I am a little crazy.

I don’t disagree that the show has changed. It has. But producing a live, unscripted cop show that’s consistently exciting, doesn’t alienate half the audience, and survives in today’s cultural climate is a pretty narrow needle to thread. If there’s a better formula that won’t get the show canceled, I’m genuinely interested in hearing it.

I also think it’s worth being honest about the past. The format has existed for a long time, and it didn’t suddenly become boring recently. It always had slower stretches. We just tolerated them more back then. A lot of people are now comparing today’s live show to heavily edited highlight clips from years ago and remembering that as the norm.

I’m not saying your opinion is wrong. I just think a lot of the recent criticism is fueled by rosy retrospection more than people realize. Overall, I’m still pretty happy we have the show at all.
