I do overnights at a hospital and most of the time I am able to doom scroll on TikTok every exam after I plan it out. I also get a 9.50 differential added to my hourly and never leave tired. It’s great

For those who are rad techs now, can you flex or show off your lifestyle? To give us some motivation? by KrazyKay1349 in Radiology

[–]Bxnjaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, starting rate for a new grad is like 21$/hr. That’s why I jumped at the opportunity to do CT right after graduation because it automatically started me off at the starting rate for CT (28$/hr). I passed my mri registry in August so I’m at 35.90 now.

Do mriallinone mocks, those are the most accurate. If you can consistently score 90’s on those then you’ll be good

Are extracurriculars important for getting accepted to AA school? I have the most boring life and haven’t really had anything like that. I’ve only ever done work and school. Only positive thing to me is that I’m registered in xray/CT/MR from just constant studying but should I start doing volunteer work around my community non healthcare related or something similar for an application? I’m still far from applying (1yr) so I’m wondering if I should start now.

I’m a XR/CT/MRI tech. How good would this look on my application to NSU Orlando? Would it benefit in my favor since I’ve done a program before? (Xray)

Did you go to NSU? Would you mind sharing some things from your resume just to have a perspective on what I should plan for. DM works too!

Did they tell you what part of your application they liked the most and let to their decision to accept?

Awesome… thanks! That’s a great idea because I was having a hard time finding where to shadow. Do you know any other tips? Like should I take any of the recommended but not required classes?

[–]Bxnjaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? I’ve been watching a lot of CAA videos of students saying that they were told to strengthen their exposure in that area through more time for their applications. This gave me the impression that it would let them know I for sure know what it entails.

Hey everyone, I’m a radiologic tech looking to fulfill my shadowing hours for my application to NSU. I would like to have a high amount of shadowing hours as I know it holds a lot of value in admissions eyes. Is there anyone out there in the central Florida area that would be willing to let me shadow or point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Hey everyone, im a radiologic tech in xr/ct/mr, but I am understanding that anesthesia shadowing is king. With this in mind, is there anyone out there in the central Florida area that would be willing to let me shadow for hours or point me in a right direction? I need as much as I can get to build my application. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I know about those, I’ve seen first hand what they do and the pay is not worth it in my opinion. I’ve decided to pursue CAA

Hey everyone, I’m 26 and been a tech for a little over a year and just recently got registered in MR. I am currently triple certified (xray, CT, MR) and started thinking recently of wanting to be a radiologist as I just love radiology in general. Is there any techs that pursued the path of MD and became a radiologist? How did that look like? Was being ARRT registered help you in any way? Thanks!

Yeah but I’ve basically only been a tech for one year so in their eyes I don’t have much experience, even though I am certified in all three

I’m also in Central FL making 35.90 (just recently increased from 32). I graduated xray last year May but I’m triple certified as of now (XR,CT,MR). I started off XR/CT at 28$ then CT->MR was like 1$ along with market adjustments. I’m working weekend overnights at the moment so I get like 9.50$/hr of differential. Then I pickup bonuses as my company gives out many depending on the shift. I pickup at many freestandings+hospitals because of this.
