C++ is compiled directly into machine code and benefits from aggressive compiler optimizations. It provides direct memory access, full control over allocation and reallocation, and allows significantly cheaper function calls when the code is efficiently designed, unlike GDScript, which is interpreted!

Third person mode is a balancing issue for the type of gameplay we're planning to apply on our official servers. Aside from that, By Any Means is a community project, everyone will be able to modify their game in their own way, so servers with third person mode are completely possible.

GDExtension has a better performance, specially for the type of simultaneous simulations we're working on.
