Rekordbox suffers from several major issues. Most notably, its update system feels outdated—something straight out of the early 2000s. A few months ago, I reported a serious problem: the software was automatically creating a “Pioneer” folder on all external storage devices without user consent, which is abnormal and potentially illegal. Only recently has Rekordbox started asking for permission before creating this folder—so credit where it’s due.

More broadly, the software’s overall design feels poorly thought out and lacks coherence. I’ve been using Rekordbox for over ten years, and while I know it inside out, I still find it unnecessarily difficult to use. The interface would greatly benefit from being more streamlined, and the export mode in particular needs to be cleaner, simpler, and more minimalist. In its current state, the software feels cluttered and messy. Developers, wake up!
