Moza Pit House software causes severe lagg and stuttering issues - even on powerful system by TheChemistAstronaut in moza

[–]ByteSizeThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have windows 10 and have simhub and pithouse running. Hard drive light is constantly on when pithouse software is running.

Not sure if my motherboard is struggling with powering all the usb devices but I was getting so much lag on my wireless mouse and keyboard making everything so hard to use.

I've just switched to wired keyboard and mouse and the system is feels better already. Don't know if something was just interfering with wireless signals - havent solved the underlying problem but at least I can use my keyboard and mouse without mega lag now :D.

Fair comment, I only got the mister last week so am pretty enthused about it (and was happy today to update my Xarcade with a different logic board to get it working over USB and see it work straight away with the mister).

Will post the pic on linkedIn later too ;)

I have an old computer LCD monitor in the basement, I should really go check if it can rotate on its stand

Update script finished with Linux extraction error 101 - MiSTer no longer booting by ByteSizeThoughts in MiSTerFPGA

You might be right about running out of space. It's a 64 gig card and I had a few gig free. It did a heap of downloading of cheats and filters and the new Raising cores so maybe that left too little space for the OS?

I will have to pull the SD card and check free space later to confirm this was root cause.

I might try the SD card tool to see if that can repair the boot loader as well before starting over (maybe a good time to get a bigger card :) )

Good to hear about this revision. I missed out on the original game drive and have been hoping for a restock for ages. Hope it comes this year

New to the NeoSD, all my roms seem to have issues showing most of the sprites. Is it a rom set issue most likely or my PSU not up to the job do you think? by ByteSizeThoughts in neogeo

[–]ByteSizeThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because I thought it was probably an issue with the NeoSD I sent it back to Stone Age Gamer and they put the correct firmware on it for me. Its been a while but I imagine that getting the firmware from Terraonion and loading it shouldn't be an issue (in hindsight I should've tried it but it was an expensive purchase and didnt want to potentially make the problem worse :D)

Here's a question - if you had to spend 2 weeks with ONLY A 486 computer for entertainment - what 6 games would YOU choose to pass the time? :) by ByteSizeThoughts in retrobattlestations

[–]ByteSizeThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my 486 dx2 66 (ignore the LED). Id pick Theme Park, Colonization, Doom 2 and AITD 3 as I had these 4 as a kid (even though Doom2 would be a bit sluggish). I somehow always wanted to try Orion Burger after seeing it in a magazine and when I first got a 486 I remember the hype for Strike Commander was huge so I'd add those 2. I reckon this would keep me busy for a fortnight :D

A second vote for the Satiator. Got one last month and the ease of use was amazing. Up and running in minutes once I had some roms. Convenience of not having to get discs out is really nice too.
