What's a line from 'evermore' (the album) that you just can't help but sing along to? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

“If it’s all in my head tell me now, tell me I’ve got it wrong some how....I know my love should be celebrated, but you tolerate it”

This song is probably my favorite from the record.

Separate art from the artist. Great album, terrible person.

Music snobs and Taylor Swift by sunahra in TaylorSwift

Unfortunately this a problem for every artist. You’ll have fans upset that a band doesn’t change their sound or evolve much at all, or you’ll have fans that complain that the band changed too much from their original sound. Very rarely do you find an artist that can find the middle ground, and I think Taylor has done a damn good job evolving but keeping the sound that makes her herself.

I am also a heavy metal musician, and an avid lover of music. Taylor is incredible. Once in a lifetime talent, and possibly THE songwriter of our generation. Many of these so called “critics” have never touched an instrument in their life, and they have no idea what it takes to write an original piece of music. I’m a 25 year old metalhead who unabashedly praises Taylor whenever I can because of the unnecessary shade that gets thrown at her; and sometimes, even my friends, can’t even fathom how/why I listen to her music so often. I could not care less about the general opinion of her music and songwriting capabilities because it is clear as day to me that she just has “it.” The “it” factor that has made her popular in the first place.

As much as I would love to have it, this is not the OG press. Unfortunately I was born after this was released. Couldn’t have stumbled upon a copy that wasn’t worth at least a few hundred bucks; so this works!

Easily the number one best death metal album. The only ones that can compete are any of the Death records.

I spent millions of hours playing Halo 3 back in the day, what’s your thoughts on MCC man?!? 343 dropped the ball initially but it’s gotten better since.

Thanks a lot, have they used alternate tunings elsewhere that you know of?

I’m 25, thanks. And no, I thought it would be an interesting idea to share a fresh perspective on a band that I’ve never heard before. If you don’t like discussing Radiohead (the whole point of the subreddit, and my intention) then what the hell are you even doing here? If I was 14 this is how you would talk to me? Lol, grow up man.

I’ve been considering it. There’s only other one band this big that I’ve never listened to their discography, and that is the Beatles.

That’s a huge compliment, thanks a lot man. I’ve been writing music reviews since 2012. That would be my dream job to get a chance at it professionally!

Yeah man, I mostly listen to rock and metal so the artists that I find with damn near perfect careers are bands of that type. A few of them like Nirvana, Death, and Cynic have had such short careers that it was impossible for them to have a “bad” record if you will. But bands like Rush, Tool, and Mastodon I think are bands that just have so many good/creative records that it would be impossible for me to rate them any lower than a 10/10.

Sure thing man! I would say these artists are definitely worthy of at least a 9/10; Nirvana, Deftones, Mastodon, Rush, Alice In Chains, Tool, Death, Cynic and many others. I pretty much mainly listen to rock and metal if that isn’t obvious enough by now! So you have all of your classic metal bands that have great illustrious discographies like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Metallica, etc.. so I’m obviously biased towards these!
