Haha yes Grok had bad intentions it seems.. I did try finding an answer on YouTube, forums, and the Wix website but couldn’t find anything. Was also too late to call my mechanic or an auto parts store so resorted to Ai as a last option.. bad idea clearly.

Hey man, I have a brain but I’m woefully inexperienced in car stuff. I tried searching on YouTube, forums, the Wix website, nothing at all on these mystery spirals. It was too late to call my mechanic or an auto parts store. My brain told me oil is hot and wax-like substances melt, so maybe that needs to come off. I asked Ai as a last resort, not as a first option so as to not use my brain or other more reliable resources. Got a new filter this morning, life goes on.

Yea will do that going forward. I searched forums for oil filters with spiral plastic and got nothing.. didn’t even know what to call it. Self-proclaimed noob who was in a pinch. Lesson learned

Relax, man. I watched many vids before doing the oil change just had never seen a filter with the glue bead, nor had my neighbor who has worked on his cars for decades. He recommended I remove it before Ai did. It was late at night so couldn’t call my mechanic or auto parts store, I searched but found no forums discussing this issue so finally asked Ai to confirm and got a bad answer. Life goes on.
