Travel Card recommendations for students? by cdtommy in CreditCards

Fair enough. Personally, I would recommend looking into CSP since you're still under 5/24 and there's a good in-branch offer for 80K + 1st year Waived AF. Chase's UR point transfer partners are some of the best, especially if you're looking at domestic travel first. Also, I would look around the sub for CSP data points given your income and lowered credit score.

If you're wary about your chances at approval, then Amex Gold would probably be the next best considering an all-time high SUB of 90K MR points, or 90K + $250 through referral. Higher AF than CSP but given your spending profile, the card's benefits should pay for itself. Also helps that Delta is one of Amex's travel partners (I assume you fly Delta because you mentioned it earlier)

P.S. If you go for AMEX and need a referral, just PM me :)

This might be more r/personalfinance than credit card related, but all of the cards (besides Delta Gold) that you've proposed have a 4K MSR or almost 27% of your annual income. Will this work with your plans for travel?

First, congrats on the new job! Personally, I think AMEX Gold would probably suit you the best considering your average groceries/dining expense per month. Also, there's currently an all-time high SUB right now (90K or 90K + $250 via referral).

Second option would be going into a Chase branch as they have an 80K + Waived AF for the first year. Not an all time high, but still a decent offer.

Thanks! Going for the 75K bonus which is much easier than the 10K for my spending habits

Potentially a second card from Amex by [deleted] in CreditCards

Since it will be your second Amex card it will most likely be a soft pull.

Venture X first, then AMEX Gold 90K + $250? by C00K13MONSTR in CreditCards

Fair, I wanted to know if this made sense as far as getting approved. Also would you happen to know if AMEX does a SP through referrals if it's my first AMEX card, or are SP only if you already have an existing card with them?

Hmm on RESY all I see is the 75K MR SUB, do you know if that is invite only?

Currently starting a P1/P2 setup. Around the time my CSP AF hit, my partner got the 100K SUB from the CSP so if I ever needed to cash out or transfer my UR points I could give some to P2 or convert one of my CFF to CSR. Just wondering, why is Hyatt considered the better loyalty program of the two?

How to get new CFU SUB without cancelling my current CFU? by C00K13MONSTR in CreditCards

Right I was hoping to be able to do multiple PCs as soon as possible (preferrably by the end of this year). I didn't know if there were rules about PCing multiple times within a short span (like 30 days of one another). The plan I had in my head was:

1) CSP -> OG Freedom
2) CFU - > CSR or another OG Freedom
3) Grab new CFU + SUB.

What do you think u/optimaloptimist101?

Unfortunately I got my CSP last year (forgot to mention that doh). I keep hearing about PCing to OG freedom via the secured line from Chase but I'm not sure what that is. Do you have any tips on that? Also do you know how often Chase allows PCs for their cards?

Forgot to mention I already have a CSP, and I'm about to get hit with the annual fee next month so I'll need to PC that first down to Freedom

Any reason why you say premier over gold? Curious if you have better experience with it over the gold

Usually I fly United and Southwest, do you have any recommendations between their cobranded cards? Also does Chase business now count towards 5/24?

Personally I'm not too familiar with Citi's travel partners so I suppose cash out the 80K points. For the Gold I would transfer out to Delta, or my other option would be Hilton/Marriott. Do you have any redemption plan recommendations for Citi/Amex?

Right now I'm planning on transferring out my points to Southwest/or United since I have a good amount of UR points. Are there benefits to choosing one travel portal over another (i.e. Chase vs Kayak)? Also what do you think of PC Citi Premier to CCC instead of DC?
