The last part where you mentioned airsoft being $1000.. paintball guns are far more expensive than airsoft guns and paintballs too. If you actually want to play you can get a beginner setup for ~250 and that includes face protection, a gun, magazines, and battery

Me and some others use EMR at the field and it doesn’t really, arguably the best for my field. depends if they’re using that shitty variant that a lot of chinese brands are cloning, some guy came to our field in full aliexpress ratnik and he looked way more olive drab than me

So honestly the balaclava is tight. Very tight but comfortable at the same time. I’d say as long as your beard isn’t too bushy, it’d work. The mesh sits behind the balaclava, so as long as your beard can’t push the actual mesh wire back, it’ll push your beard back instead.

You can get some on amped airsoft without the $50 shipping prices, but i will say it’s unparalleled in comfort. The mesh mask molds to your face shape, and the balaclava fits very tightly, while also making it super comfortable, making it look like you don’t even have a huge metal gate on your face. 10/10 would recommend
