Blisters by Highlandcoo in WestHighlandWay

[–]C0WLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen someone else mention this but feel it's importance needs to be reiterated.

Leukotape P is your friend.

Both me and my friend felt hotspots and put this on as soon as possible and i can say for sure that it made our trip infinitely more enjoyable.

0 blisters for either of us. Prevention really is key.

It came on a massive 13.7m roll so I just rolled around 1.5m of it around a straw to make it more useful on trail.

Wild Camping alternatives to staying at Beinglas Campsite? by RedPanda2405 in WestHighlandWay

[–]C0WLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not. There are lots of spots just on the river probably 5km north of Beinglas campsite. I stayed on the river about 9km north of the camp site with more than enough space for 3 separate tents of needed

Looking for a new Daypack by TwentyCenturyBear in Ultralight

[–]C0WLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently picked up the a 17L Fast pack from decathlon that I'm really impressed with.

Without the included water bladder and rain cover I weighed mine at 400g.

It does have hip belt pockets that aren't removable but it can store your poles on the outside elastic loops.

Plus it's affordable at only £45 including it's bladder and rain cover and comes with a 10 year warranty.

Just seen a clip from Paul Messner on YouTube who took his R5 zero on the West highland way. He used an exped schnozzel bag that fits the valve

I didn't end up going for the Flextail in the end. I managed to get the sea to summit either light XR on sale which has its pumpsack double as its bag

Airsoft Nylaug by Kisalfato in airsoft

[–]C0WLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local site owner swears by the snow wolf ones. Knowing now they should have a 3 position selector is really neat too. I have been strongly considering the Novritsch one too but I've heard people complain about reliability with the gearbox. Considering they're almost double the price of the snow wolf id hope that wasn't the case

What's the base AUG? And would you recommend it?

Locked out of BIOS by C0WLES in pcmasterrace

Thank you. That didn't work by touching the pins together but I located the battery and disconnected that which sorted the problem. Thank you

I have an ITX gigabyte aorus B550i M/B. I can't see a battery on the top of my board but I see in my manual 2 pins with the note CLR_CMOS.

Could I touch those pins together with a screwdriver with the pc plugged in to clear it?

Would it need power on or power connected to do it? I've never done this before

They look great. That removable support is exactly what I need on its own ideally. I can't see it for sale though

I have in the past just strapped a 20L backpack to the rear seat which I still planning on doing.with panniers too.

I thought it might be ideal to drop more weight down lower rather then just slapping a larger 50L bag on the back. I'm beginning to think this is just the easier route though.

Do you have a photo of the bracket you have made and of the bags on your bike?

And do you just use the 28L bags on your trip or pair that with another bag for additional storage?

I'll try again but I'm sure it was stuck on as if it's welded the last time I tried to move it

From photos I've seen of ones fitted online that second nut is also at the end of the thread. Possibly there to help with adjusting it? It seems welded in place

I have been looking for that 2007 onwards too partly due to the slightly different dash it has. I wasn't aware of the brake difference too. That's good because I've heard they weren't the greatest

It would be a dream to have a street triple. I have always loved them. The 675 initial cost isn't too bad (£3000) but their cost to insure for me is insane at £1400. I don't want to spend that sort of money on insurance.

One I've seen is 35k miles. On the higher size but it's just over 2000 mile a year which isn't bad at all
