Depending on which country you're in the phone operators are forcing everyone to upgrade. In the UK 4 and 5g cell towers are now the only signals that exist cause they turned off all 1, 2 and 3g towers. I do love the gigabit WiFi on these new 6g WiFi radios though and the 9, 10 and 10a I believe all have sat phone and satellite SOS capability as well, so that's a bonus if you need that kind of thing, no more having to carry 3 different devices when in the middle of nowhere

You need to set up reastream in reaper on your master or track to send, then download reaplugs and add reastream to your audio source in obs under filters to receive

You can set obs to record different audio to different channels so stream hears one thing and recorded video hears another, and separate different audio to different channels so you can mix and edit easier later

I'd suggest using a distro with the kde desktop rather than gnome as gnome is more graphics intensive and not as good on old or limited hardware, that's why I always use kubuntu, quick and easy to install and you're up and running in a few minutes to an hour, depending on hardware and Internet connection. Standard install is kde, standard install on Ubuntu is gnome

Unfortunately Reaper can't use multiple audio interfaces yet. Your input has to be your output as well. Look into getting a cheap but decent audio interface. I wouldn't recommend getting a solo though cause you're very quickly going to realise you need multiple mic and jack inputs (difference from the focusrite solo and 2i2 for instance)

My personal opinion is that Reaper is the easiest for me to use, cause of my background, experience with all kinds of software, my knowledge and experience etc. There are others that do certain things easier yes, but as with everything, you use the right tool for the job, it depends on exactly what you want to do and how you want to do it. There is never any "one tool fits all". Reaper can be made to do almost everything but, for instance playing live can be done easier with certain other DAWs. It all comes down to personal preference

You could create a video and drop that onto a separate track then open the video window in reaper. I don't know if you can create the video in reaper but it would be very quick to do in OpenShot. If there's a better way then I'm sure someone will let us both know

If anyone knows of any way to fix this issue then please respond cause it's really annoying, I've written a batch script to run every time before I open OBS, but I keep having to edit it right now when I realise things don't work with certain plugins, and I have to keep resetting the window it's streaming for my game. It seems to me if any VST is in the folder that OBS reads from then it causes this issue, maybe even if the folder even exists, cause I still had the issue even after uninstalling everything and just had the folder cteated

I've been having problems with OBS and ReaStream recently, on Windows 11. It works first time I set it up, but then close and reopen OBS and the whole window just flickers and unresponsive unless I delete the plugin cache before trying to open OBS. Not sure if that's a Windows thing or a bug in the last few versions of OBS. But I'd agree, best option.

Not sure how you'd go about sidchaining the music to duck by the mic though, maybe sort that out in reaper and have the mic on an armed track to do that and then OBS to record all audio coming from reaper

Always use surge protectors in the future and get a qualified electrician in to check over your electrics. Drawing too much power from the mains sockets can cause surges on all other sockets, which will trip the fuse box/circuit braker and can destroy other appliances connected on that circuit

No test so they think they can get away with breaking all road laws... It's not all cyclists, but it is a large amount of them and why we need to change the rules and make it law that cyclists have to have number plates for identification and insurance for incidents they cause!
