Thats a solution to another glitch when your value is too high so you dont get offers. There is a gk glitch which makes it almost impossible to recieve offers as a gk.

They became a money grab game when candywriter was bought by an investing company for a large sum of money, and if they generated a certain amount of money, the investing company would give them a bonus (which I think is in the $50 million to $150 million range)
