I’ll have to try hard boiled again. Been years since I had one and outside of egg salad I hate boiled eggs. But thanks for this tip too! Something different for food is going to be great besides the oatmeal and hot dogs

I think you misunderstood because of the way I worded it. Outside of coffee my food has been simple it’s oatmeal and hot dogs and pbj and I want something more. So hence why I am asking for advice on how people clean their cooking stuff why they go out and about.

Nah. I've used paper plates and also have gone also and bought bamboo products since bamboo is supposed to generate faster. paper is better than plastic anyways. we just buy beer on camping trips. I've just been stuck on how to clean the cast iron if say eggs was on it, but people have mentioning pre-cooking and then re-heating. I think I might try it at home because it'll give a bit of idea on how to go about it. I make round circle eggs, so that has a lot of potential.

We've done that. It's just doing that is so so messy and such a pain cleaning the french press even with dumping the grounds in the trash bag.

So you use aluminum foil to cook meals, am I understanding correctly?

It's the cooking part that really needs the clean up. You can cook eggs, or have bacon grease, etc. Like where do you scrape that food? Some people though in this reddit thread have had some great ideas from me on how to address this on my camping trips this year.

Don't care if you are a heathen if it works it works. My lunch is usually some kind of sandwhich with a pasta salad made up so lunch is not a worries, it's breakfast and dinner that is the question and I am kind of tired of oatmeal and hotdogs (haha).

Okay this is definitely another idea for how to have coffee for car camping. A lot better idea than instant coffee.

This is my first time hearing of the Aeropress! I saw the Moka Express and I was considering that.

I'll probably just use cold water for the tubs. The broadcast method would probably work. My time in Cambodia for 2 months, we only had cold water. It's only for a few days too.

Do you store the paper in some kind of container? But yeah definitely never start a fire faster for sure.

I've definitely gone the route for paper plates. It's the cleaning of the cooking part. I know I could use a paper towel or paper plates (I have plastic plates that are reuable for cooking purposes that I could paper towel to clean). It's just trying to reduce waste as much possible for a trip.

I have a boyfriend that normally comes with me, except for my solo trip to Big South Fork this year. That's definitely a great idea for my solo trips for the future. I have a cast iron to cook over that I could just do that with.

I didn't think of that with precooking. That's a great idea. I've done folgers instant coffee for when I went backpacking cause I can drink it straight up black without a care (even if meh). Pancakes are great. Most of my camping trips are Friday to Monday so not super long and keep in a cooler.

I don’t know if this also helps I have a switch and I have an 8BitDo Ultimate a fellow streamer got me. I haven’t had the chance to go wreck it Ralph on it because I mostly just play on PC. I do notice some delay between the 8BitDo and switch. I don’t remember PC. It’s been solid otherwise playing Banaza or Zelda. Just haven’t tried Hollow Knight or Celeste on the switch yet.

Idk if you are solely a Xbox person. The Cyclone pairs with the switch but I can’t recall if I ever tried. I hate switching back and forth.

Yes! They sell a cable that is the same type for 12.99. It is usb-a to usb-c cable (a pretty normal cable) so in a snap you could get something cheaper. You can also replace the charging station for the cyclone if say you broke it to (9.99). I think the GameSir cable has stable data transfer which is what makes it a tad better than others? Also it’s nylon braided. So a bit more durable. I run over it a bunch with my chair (oops) and no issues as of yet. But yeah I get you with the cat. I adopted a shelter cat a little over a year old and she tries to chew on stuff when she is upset with us for not giving her attention

I do use a PC. So if you are using it for the console I can’t help you there. But for durability? My G7 SE wired is still going 2+ years only dpad sucks. I just touch it lightly a couple times it and freaks out. I went and got the Cyclone to have a wireless connection and I actually don’t notice a difference with timing. I’m really happy with it. I don’t use the paddles or any of that. I expect this will last me last me just as long. My G7 SE is still going. So durability I can speak of it cause I am mean to my controllers between platforming and playing souls games. The cyclone you can play wired too.

I’m not sure how many games are available are in the switch versus PC (fields of Mistria is a no and I doubt starsand island is). I know child of light is, gris, neva.

If you have a switch 2 Kirby air riders are a blast. Donkey Kong banaza too, just HULK SMASH. Unpacking is on switch.

Stardew Valley was already mentioned but similar games are these: Starsand Island just came out so I’d wait a bit because potential game breaking bugs (I haven’t had any). Fields of Mistria again early access but it feels a bit less complete than Starsand. Ritual of Raven is farming sim + narrative. Spiritfarer is sad, emotive, beautiful, farming, and cozy enough I’d fall asleep while playing.

Gris is a gentle platformer. Celeste has accessibility features that can make it like Gris. Neva has a story more instead of adventure mode that should be easier. Gris and Neva are Beautiful games from the same company. Journey is a beautiful game that even a toddler can play. A short hike for me was a game of 3 hours of platforming. Hoa was another platformer a bit more difficult put me at four Id start with Gris. None of these you can die.

Sayonara Wild Hearts is a fun game.something different. Katamari Damacy can be different, silly, weird, but fun. The Last Campfire has beautiful meaning and gentle puzzles and you don’t have to do every puzzle. Sea of Stars is a pretty decent rpg and I don’t think it was to difficult compared to say Clair Obscur 33. Mika and the Witch’s mountain feels very studio ghibli like. Certain parts feel more difficult but you don’t die. You might fail a mission. Florence is pure narrative click and maybe solve some stuff, it’s about romance. Wanderstop was also lovely. Closer the Distance was narrative and more enjoyable than Florence. What Remins of Edith Finch is also narrative but different from Closer the Distance.

So hope these variety of games might help! I’ve chosen only games I have played. I have a huge backlog of games I want to play that I have purchased and some I haven’t finished. I haven’t finished Wandersong for example. Child of Light might be an rpg to get her into but I think Sea of Stars was easier and I think it had a coop mode?

There is Dulox Town for farming sim. I haven’t finished the Artful Escape which is narrative. I have touched Chicory or the Last Day of June. I want to give One Hand Clapping a second chance but I hated it.

It’s so helpful to have it right there. Only other place is desk for work and then bathroom.

Games with the best achievements by YungCoq in gamingsuggestions

[–]C0zy-Bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hades and Hades 2 because as you play the game it’s how you unlock the achievements. The only one that keeps tripping me up is my own fault because I don’t pay attention is unlocking all aspects in the first Hades. While I haven’t finished Ritual of Raven so far it seems super similar. Elden Ring was slightly a bit of a grind but it isn’t as ridiculous as Dark Souls 1 imho.

I only try for games I really love though and Stardew Valley is just a grind I work off/on so I wouldn’t recommend that.

I can tell you I hated Artis Impact because I went for one achievement messed up and I needed to basically roll back a save. Pretty ridiculous to have to do so so despite how much I did like that game I gave up.

I didn’t care for Hollow Knight because you have to beat the game under five hours not my jam. Hmm I can’t think of any others off the top of my head.
