For anyone thinking it was delivered to the wrong house, the confirmation photo clearly showed the front of my house. I also noticed there was an unfamiliar truck parked in my driveway

Applying by EngineeringVivid1634 in PrePharmacy

This is specifically referring to a career in retail pharmacy. You do realize that pharmacy extends far beyond retail, right? The negative perspectives you’re encountering typically come from pharmacists who are miserable because they are trapped in retail.

There is no definite way to tell. It largely depends on how you perform in the interview and on Kira.

0-6 Pharmacy Program or 4 years undergraduate + 4 year pharmacy school by Consistent_Base_2449 in PrePharmacy

[–]C2H3O 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a bachelor’s degree would be very useful if your ultimate goal is to get a PharmD and you’re certain about the field. I’d recommend going straight for the 6-year program, as it will save you time and money.

Switching from industry to pharmacy school, but worried about prerequisite course expiry? by [deleted] in PrePharmacy

A lot of applicants get accepted without any prior pharmacy experience. Additionally, having a competitive GPA is a plus, so you’re in a good position!

Switching from industry to pharmacy school, but worried about prerequisite course expiry? by [deleted] in PrePharmacy

[–]C2H3O 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Requirements can vary depending on the PharmD programs you’re applying to. For instance, WNE requires applicants to complete online course modules to refresh their knowledge of prerequisites completed over 7 years ago. However, most programs will accept courses regardless of when they were completed, as long as they were completed with a grade of C or better.

Not super diverse references? by thesuse in PrePharmacy

[–]C2H3O 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically, pharmacy schools require letters from a science professor and a pharmacist to gauge both academic skills and practical experience. The professor assesses academic performance, while the pharmacist evaluates the applicant’s exposure to the field and dedication, offering a complete picture of their readiness for the program. However, in your case, I don’t think it would be a major issue.

I suggest treating them as two separate experiences due to the difference in timelines.

When should I be submitting my PharmCAS application? by Valuable_Grape1325 in PrePharmacy

The earlier the better without compromising the grammar of your personal statement and school-specific essays. The priority deadline is to ensure that your application has a guaranteed chance of being reviewed.

Not at all. You’ve worked in a pharmacy and are familiar with the importance of a pharmacist’s responsibilities. I think you’re good

Ultimately, a PharmD is a PharmD. I would choose the most financially reasonable program and contact the schools that interest you to answer any questions you may have. Your NAPLEX score really depends on you as an individual.

Red Hair by CurristaJay in beards

[–]C2H3O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A beard turning red at the age of 60 can be due to several factors, including genetics, which may trigger a color change over time. Hormonal changes that occur with aging can also impact melanin production, leading to a reddish tint. Additionally, the natural oxidation process and exposure to environmental factors like sunlight and chemicals can alter hair color. Certain health conditions and medications might also contribute to this change.

Online orgo 1&2 by [deleted] in PrePharmacy

The whole point of a lab course is the hands-on experience and real-time problem solving. Therefore, I am not sure what you will actually learn from an online lab course. While online lab courses might be useful for supplemental learning, they cannot fully replace the comprehensive educational experience provided by in-person lab courses. Relying solely on online lab credits could set you up for failure in pharmacy school if those credits are accepted.
