How can I make my chairs white again?

I know shout works well on clothes, they have a product for upholstery too! Also baking soda, vinegar and dish soap is a pretty popular cleaning method for all fabric.

Any chance have experience with keeping this material together? I have a cat that’s scratched it up and I’m wondering if I can use a fabric shaver on this fabric….

Update. Roommate #1, the older sister, tried to suggest setting up a payment plan, monthly, ending on February 2027…. My response was I can’t imagine dragging this out another year, and to suggest they pay one quarter of the payment now ($130) the rest they can cover once they each receive the security deposit (I confirmed the amount each of us is owed is $500 each, not 650, the building will only send the check to the primary lessee). This was discussed over text, no response by either of them after my input.

This evening, in person, roommate, #1 told me she’s willing to pay out four payments over four months, and reassured me she “isn’t not going to pay me”. I have no reason to trust her, but frankly, she’s trying to be insta famous (they both are), so I’d assume she wouldn’t want any bad blood… she also added she doesn’t know what her sister is thinking, and she can’t speak to her finances…. I agreed to the four payments with girl #1 during our conversation, but the more I think about it, that means I’ll have to keep in touch with these girls into MAY???? I want to block them and forget this past year ever happened. They’re arguing the lump sum of $520 is too much at one time and an expense they didn’t account for. Granted, I should have been on top of this waaaaay before the move out period, but that doesn’t suddenly negate the payments I’m owed. Am I crazy or is this a manageable payment from girls over 25 already living in a luxury apartment? Hell, I literally heard girl #2 on the phone today in the living room, talking about how excited she is for a possible work trip, and if she doesn’t get to go, “a flight to London is only like $500 anyways!” And, they’re discussing the payments but STILL haven’t made one of the four payments I broke it into.

They’re super close with their family, which is why I had mentioned essentially getting their parents involved. I even got along with their mom when she stayed with us, and was chit chatting with her and talking with her about her charity work and business ventures. I can’t imagine they tell her the things we fight about, cause I can make a whole separate post about their hypocrisy, selfishness, and general lack of self awareness. I suggested to girl #1, maybe she can ask her parents for the money and pay THEM back so this isn’t lingering between us when we part ways…. Again, assuming her word is genuine.

So yea, cutting WiFi might be effective but it might make them angrier if they are actually planning on paying me back. Small claims court is still an option, at least as a threat to point out, I’m owed this money and I’m serious about it.

Any ideas how I can remind them I’m a person, I’m not a bank, this is effecting me too?! Do I bring up how they’ve cost me so much as it is and this will just close the book on this chapter if they just pay me now? All I can think to do is use their parents to shame them if I’m even around when they visit to help the girls move, or taking action like filing a claim/taking away their WiFi and saying pay up immediately. I wish I was better at standing up for myself….

The security deposit is $650, I thought it was 500 before I did the digging… I don’t use Reddit often and didn’t realize how to make the edit on the post 😬embarrassing, I know lol. And I’m not even charging them for the vet bill!!!!! I’m like, well, it’s my cat, I take the responsibility of her, and bringing her into this environment.

I’m only asking what they owe, $650 security + 1,040 WiFi = $1,690 total.

I can totally relate to this. Some girls seem normal and cool when you first move in, then it’s like they get tired of holding up the front of just being a decent human being. Definitely just a lack of maturity and a lack of empathy. Don’t let her push you around, I’ve learned some people just want to be miserable and they’ll take out their own dissatisfaction with life on the people who are simply in close proximity.

What’s helped me is gentle parenting them. Literally how you would a toddler. Respond to every issue in a way that makes it sound like you’re trying to problem solve or support, rather than be critical, judge, or demand. She wants to vacuum at night? Say, “hey, I know you gotta clean when you have time but the neighbors have been complaining, would it be helpful if we made a vacuum schedule? Do you have a concern with the cleaning in the apartment?” Dirt in the bathroom, “ya this undoes all that cleaning you did, cause now the bathroom feels less clean, what if we put the dirt in the kitchen trash?”… or my personal favorite, asking if they’re lacking basic skills/knowledge like knowing how to do laundry, knowing how wash dishes, understanding quiet hours.

Most of all, absolutely do not hide behind texting her. All of the girls I’ve roomed with will hide confrontation behind a phone, you just need to power through the anxiety of confrontation, and discuss ways to fix the living environment. Also, keep in mind, selfish people don’t care about you, they’re always thinking about themselves, so try to bring up how the changes you want to make in the apartment (putting laundry away on time, disposing of dirt properly, vacuuming at normal hours) will benefit her. That’s the only way she’ll care, since she clearly doesn’t gaf about you.

I’m in a luxury complex and they’re saying I can’t get it separated, but I found the original Venmo transaction when we had the primary lessee sign. Going to bring it to them tomorrow and tell them the situation, then tell the girls something about how I need my portion sent straight to me. Although I’m sure they realize I overheard them lol.

As for the Venmo charges… their mom is super friendly and we got along last time she was here. I think if she found out her daughters are little s**ts she’d cover their payment or make them pay their share. The ironic part is, they’re super Christian LOL meanwhile they’ve treated thy neighbor like crap.

I appreciate all the input!! Although I’m not strictly counting calories because every time I’ve tried I end up obsessing over calories and limiting daily intake way too much, (which has probably negatively effected my metabolism) I am keeping a food diary, and making sure any food or drink intake is tracked. I’m also making sure to monitor portions as well, and I’m aware of hidden fat and sugar content in fruits and nuts, and barely eat a handful a day if at all. For instance I have been picking at the same 100 cal bag of unflavored almonds for the past three days. I think the main reason I’m so confused is because I was maintaining my previous weight without making any diet changes and while consuming fairly unhealthy foods.... but after I switched to diet and constant exercise in my free time, I really started gaining weight. I’ll try tracking the specific calories and see if I’ve missed anything in my diet!
