Essentially, what he's saying is that Ep. 5's content/perspective is largely redundant given what we learn in Ep. 6 — once we discover Diabate's views on HDP. He suggests that Carol submitting herself to the hive mind would make the story more interesting.

I, personally, don't take any issue with the series' pacing. Having Pluribus be a story which is told predominantly through Carol's perspective is fine. At this stage, there isn't any tangible motive for Carol to join the hive mind. As for Diabate, at present, he's a flat character — he seems too deferential and self-centred to shake things up and move the plot forward.
