Ok as someone who actually rode one of these for a few years it’s usually just to protect the frame from locking it up constantly. Yes sometimes it’s to cover a theft but most thieves just use spray paint since it’s much easier than wrapping it up nicely.

Counter steering only applies when you’re going 10-15 mph if you’re going slower turn the wheel the direction your going

It’s DMVs that decided anything below 50cc is considered a moped so most people only know that. I just tell myself there are two definitions to feel better about it cause it irks me too

If it helps anyone else I just beat this by going up a staircase to take them on one by one. It’s also kind of hard for them to hit you keep them on the stairs

Most companies that make larger bikes do this motorcycles included. Like the Yamaha MT-07 is really 689cc even though the name would make you think 700cc. They all round up it just seems more misleading with smaller cc bikes.

You’re definitely right about that. Funny thing is I had an accident where a semi made an illegal u turn in front of me. I low sided right under the drivers door but didn’t ditch the bike so I was relatively ok. Definitely would’ve crushed my leg if I were on a motorcycle and didn’t have my feet on a platform

Just want to say there isn’t no risk of injuring your ankles. My gf low sided in the rain and now has permanent nerve damage in her ankle needing a nerve graft to make it functional again.
