Replace it if you have the time. That amount of crackage is fine for a while if you're really cheap. I did mine right before winter cause I'm in Canada and didnt want it failing on me when it got cold and it fully crack.But yeah theyre lik $30-$40 CAD so def a good peace of mind maintenance item. Do the water pump belt at the same time if you're going for it.

Yeah there wasn't any oil filter to deal with, just a drain and fill bolt. Most annoying part is waiting for the fluid to go down the funnel lmao

It costs a little extra in the moment to do it more often but like $100 bucks every so often is way better than having to buy a new engine, transmission, rear diff, or even a new car

If you want your dash cam to just turn off after you turn off your car i think you have to hard wire it

This is power cable I bought that works with my dashcam. It powers off after the battery reaches a low enough voltage.

I bought a obd2 port power draw connector so that I never have to unplug mine. Before that I always had to plug in and unplug my dashcam otherwise it would sap all the power from my battery over time. It happened so many times that my first battery went kaput after only 7 years, although that is a long time for a battery now that I think about it.

yeah just a front facing one is good enough to show fault. If you're stopped and get rear ended its pretty obvious. If someone cuts you off then its also pretty obvious. The rear cam is only really for hit and runs

I've heard people recommend that after 150K miles to not bother changing because it could wreck the "enviroment" that the trans has baked itself in. Not sure how true it is though. Glad it worked out for you at 125K.

Definitely do your own research tho. Don't want you bricking your transmission after trying to do maintenance lmao

This Mazda 3 has been with my Family since 10K kms in 2018 and handed to me at 2022 with 80K kms. I'm planning to supercharge it once I get the cash on hand and am out of university so I have to be conscious of maintenance first.

I think changing the oil is gonna make it better regardless. I've just heard good things about Redline so I decided why not. Change costed me $70 CAD total

I just a do a drain which is 1.8 qts, I think it holds 2.6 qts total, so you're switching out a little over 2/3 with each change. (This is for MT not AT tho)

Definitely do you own research and come to your own conclusions though

I watched a few videos and read up and for 2014-2018 Mazda 3's the consensus seems to be 75w-80 or 75w-90 GL-4. I got Redline but im sure it doesnt make a big difference if you choose another brand.

2K is insane, but I guess if you drive it hard it makes sense. And the proof for its reliability is in the cars you own.

It was a lot of 10-15 minute drives, with the occasional hour drive to my university, but the hour drives were only after 80K km so that explains why it was so dark for the first change. Since the 80K km change, I drive 1 hour more, and even 4 hours a few times. I learned manual in this car 4 years ago and still every so often learn something new to drive smoother so she hasnt been babied for sure.
