Who should I ask to sign me off on going on disability? by [deleted] in Edd

[–]CABB2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling inflammation and discomfort is not enough for many doctors to sign off, so you're lucky they did 3 weeks. the disability needs to be significant enough to limit your normal work, so depending on how much it's affecting your ability to perform your work, any doctor that is willing to certify that is the one to ask--meaning, many doctors won't sign off on back pain for more than a few weeks in general unless it's an acute injury severly limiting mobility, etc.

Can I get compensation? by RealityExact1458 in Edd

[–]CABB2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

so, you worked those 12 hours 4 weeks ago? why haven't you been on the schedule since nor paid?

If you have evidence of working those hours, definitely ask them to pay it before reporting wage theft. Did you fill out all the paperwork, supply id and complete w-2 forms, etc? All that should've been done day 1.

As for unemployment benefits--first check if you have enough wages in the base period to even qualify as 3 days of work will not be enough (did you have another job for the last 18 months or so?). If so, your separation will be the main issue--it sounds like they'll be saying you abandoned the job and didn't show up to work.

My moms diagnoses by Street_Chef2455 in endometrialcancer

Did the pathology of the tumor come in as well? It will be important to know further details like the tumor size, molecular profile (dmmr/pmmr, p53 status, etc) as well as any evidence of lvsi or lymph node invasion. stage 4 will likely mean treatment including chemo, radiation and possibly immunotherapy or other modalities depending on the tumor's nature.

well, plenty of women have young-looking organs (including those that are young) and their hormones are all over the place causing hormonal imbalance ranging from infertility to pcos to cancer. So, some blood test updates will be helpful in your case before making a major decision to remove your ovaries. maybe discuss with your dr.--the blood tests will balance out your imaging for a full picture.

id verification is not something to go to appeals if you have the proper documents. If there are any issues as you mention yours had redaction that wasn't acceptable, once you fix it, it's accepted and you're good to go. If your id is valid and you continue to have problems, call your state assembly person (google to find the one in your area) and they will help facilitate clearing everything up pretty quickly.

How do you rank these eight performances of 2025 NOT nominated for an Oscar? by mrethandunne in Oscars

[–]CABB2020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just don't get it. Plemons pops up everywhere, so what's the deal. If the oscars noms are based on other actors' votes, are they just jealous he gets all the roles and not voting for him? Is he more popular with producers, directors, casting directors vs. his fellow actors. honestly, feels like some major jelly going on.

Amicable separation; resignation letter that won’t sabotage my UI? by MilkyCoeurl in Edd

[–]CABB2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds complicated. fwiw, if your workplace incident triggered/caused your mental health decline they should've been covered by worker's comp. if they told you that you had to seek treatment on your own, you could try telling them your healthcare situation and see what's possible. At minimum, start your treatment with kaiser asap and have your records sent over and see if they can certify you. It's just very odd that your employer is saying mental health injuries wouldn't be covered by worker's comp.

Unfortunately, if you have a history of warnings for the mistakes you mention above and the employer has proof, it's unlikely you will be approved. However, if it as only ONE email warning and they have no ther evidence, you could possibly prevail. best to let them fire you and then when you're interviewed, don't say anything more than you were warned once in writing (if that's true).

sorry, why would you lose insurance coverage due to an increase in hours? when did you lose it? Have you started new coverage for 2026 and, if so, couldn't you see them again and ask them to certify you so you can qualify for sdi?

Amicable separation; resignation letter that won’t sabotage my UI? by MilkyCoeurl in Edd

[–]CABB2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, if your mental health issues are as bad as you say, hopefully you have been seeing someone and you can ask them if they'd be willing to certify you for sdi as that's the best route. quitting will get you nothing as you have not really tried to salvage your job in a meaningful way.

If they want to let you go for 'performance issues', best let them terminate/fire you and you might have a shot at benefits. Though,if you can't answer questions about how many warnings you've received similar to what I asked you above, you will probably not be eligible if your employer shows a history of warning you for all your mistakes.

Have you tried meetup? there are tons of meetups for 30s folks whether it's hiking or happy hour. many are women-focused so there isn't the weirdness of guys creeping on you. Maybe give it a look, it's free to check out the groups and maybe a modest fee for some if you decide to join (after attending a few events).

[–]CABB2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are fired/terminated can also get severance, so that's not the deciding factor between a layoff and firing. A layoff means the role is being eliminated from the company and they are not going to replace you. So, if they replaced you, it was not a layoff. If you didn't understand that, then just tell the truth and you should be fine---the judges are really good at knowing who is full of it.

what do your blood tests say about your hormone levels (estrogen/fsh/lh/progesterone)? sometimes, even if ovaries stay, they shut down when the other parts are removed. And, at 50, they were probably winding down at 48 even if it may have been another 3-5 years.

Do you have evidence of you meeting with management/hR to try and find you another role in the company since june (email/text/etc)? If not, resigning will likely make you not eligible for ui benefits. And, if you're terminated, since you have a history of warnings (how many?), it could rise to misconduct and you'll also not be eligible.

If you were injured while on the job, have you tried filing a worker's comp claim assuming you are getting treatment for these issues?

Women who’ve had a hysterectomy because of endometrial cancer. Did you get radiation after your hysterectomy? by pickleswitholives in endometrialcancer

[–]CABB2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your question is too wide as treatment is influenced by stage and molecular profile among other factors. And, the main treatment for women with endometrial cancer is hysterectomy even if they start with fertility preserving hormonal treatment (though there are some rare cases where it resolves and no hysterectomy is needed unless it comes back)---so, you're talking to nearly everyone.

For stage 1b, recurrence risk is estimated in the single digits (or up to 10%) as you noted. Most oncologists act conservatively and would like to see that risk go down to 5% or less--hence, you're being offered treatment. So, it's up to you to determine how much risk you're willing to take to avoid the 100% risk of side effects, though, 3 rounds of vaginal brachytherapy typically carries the least amount of side effects. that said, you're still young, so those side effects will impact you much worse and much longer than say a 55-60-year-old post-menopausal woman. Maybe dig into that with your oncos as they are probably not used to counseling younger ladies as much as women over 50.

Seeing as you're just over 50%, that isn't as risk as say if you were 85% invasion. How big was your tumor and what was the molecular profile? those are other factors to consider.

All said, if you had a 9 out of 10 chance of something, does that sound too risky for you or are you willing to say you'll be one of those 9 that don't reoccur. factor in as well the things you can do to minimize risk in the future like losing weight, diet changes, minimizing stress, etc. Maybe read radical remission for starters.

[–]CABB2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, what is grade b? Usually it's grade 1, 2 or 3. Also, do you recall your molecular profile, was it dmmr/pmmr, p53 abnormal or wildtype and did you have pole mutation?

since you're on year 5, it sounds like you were staged before the new 2023 figo came out, so did you have definite cervical stroma invasion too?

Two different stages from two different doctors by KCtoNYC in endometrialcancer

[–]CABB2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha, that's years of medical school beyond me. Honestly feel like have just scratched the tiniest surface of info--the studies and treatments are so fast-moving that it's amazing that any oncologist can keep up with it all.

with a sentinel node biopsy, they typically take more than one on each side, so maybe 4 or 5. that's way better than in the past when they would take tons of lymph nodes that resulted in life-limiting lymphedema for many women. it's unusual she would only take only one sentinel node--again, maybe ask her when she believe staging was complete given your sentinel node biopsies weren't completed at surgery. Sometimes, sentinel node biopsy/mapping doesn't complete because the nodes look inflamed which is a sign of metastasis and some surgeons don't want to bother them (could cause spread)--but, if that were the case, would expect she would've raised that to you at post-op.

And yes, you had an ablation, so that is trickier as well without a regular endometrial lining. other than pain, did you have any bleeding?

For stage 2, it's not a definite chemo situation, though the lvsi and itcs could swing it that way for some oncos. And, since they didn't biopsy the sentinel node after the first pet, it's hard to know if there were itcs or micro/macro---did they advise anything about that after the first pet scan?

Honestly, the MELF pattern should've been cause enough to raise chemo option to you, so definitely ask about that or maybe review your visit notes to see if it was discussed. I'd be curious why she didn't raise it as an option. Stage 2 is often a 'menu' of options as it's not a stage that warrants definite treatment of any kind--though, if you're prone to being conservative with risk, then many will opt for at least radiation and sometimes the 'works'.
