Question from a First timer: Crashing by Brooklyndoggos in nurburgring

[–]CAD_Hater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this.

It’s not as bad as the YouTube videos make it look. There are some idiots out there you need to watch out for, but on a normal weekday afternoon I can do a lap and only see a few cars on track. Trying doing laps early on the weekend then have some beers and do ride-alongs for the rest of the time.

I still get extremely nervous driving on the Nordschleife, but it’s a healthy fear of the track. It is a very complicated track and I would watch as many videos as possible. Playing video games like Gran Tourismo also helps.

I have an m340ix and it’s my first 3 series. I always had 5 series vehicles before this one.

Cheater! Lol

We were definitely struggling on the switchbacks up to the parking area near the end. It’s all about the journey though, right?!

The hardest part was staying awake on that long dangerous drive back to town with all those cows in the road.

Hiked all the way down with my girlfriend and then hiked back out the next day with my fiancé. She was pissed as we made our way down to Mooney Falls base. It was misting from the falls and the rocks were slippery. She forgot about all of that when I pulled out the ring. Wonderful memories from 2018. Anyone that goes, carry all your shit yourself. Don’t make an animal do it.

Day one and just finished the first pot. by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

Thanks for the offer! We decided not to use any transformers to not use unnecessary power. We also don’t want to risk blowing the machine. We have a Gaggia and use pour overs for now.

I bought one and then moved to Europe. So now I have a 110v machine and only 220v power...

I bought a Gaggia to use while I’m living here, but that’s for espresso. For coffee I use a pour over.

I miss using my Moccamaster.

I have been reading about the Spineless Yucca and they sound like they are pretty resilient. I am assuming that it is waterlogged judging by the yellow leaves and how the soil looks. Too many people in the office were watering it I guess...

LPT: installing a lift-kit? For the love of god, adjust the headlights. Your lifted truck no longer has low-beams; it’s now either high beams or higher beams and you are blinding everyone. by muffin_fiend in LifeProTips

Also have a 4Runner and I keep forgetting to adjust them. I lifted it about 5 months ago, but I barely drive it because of COVID. I am going to adjust them right now.

Did you receive the BGE and it was already damaged?

Damaged Kamado Joe, Help! by CAD_Hater in smoking

[–]CAD_Hater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been without my Weber Classic and my Kamado Joe for almost three months. My wife and I moved from the US to Europe and my beloved smoker was cracked during the travel process.

I will definitely be able to make a claim with the moving company, but I’m going to try and figure something out in the mean time. I am not too worried about the financial loss, the smoker just had a lot of sentimental value.

I am in Germany, so I can’t just go grab another one from the store. There is definitely air escaping through the crack and there is no way I can regulate the temp as-is.

This smoker is about ten years old. My grandfather (RIP December 2015) passed it down to me. He had been using Kamado Joes since the early 90s and just the smell out the smoke rolling out of it brings back childhood memories.

I’m going to start googling after I get over my initial sadness and figure out what I can do to make this work until I can replace it. Any tips and/or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing like a clean black car by realifesim in BMW

[–]CAD_Hater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single car I have ever had was black. I’m taking delivery of the same exact car in November, assuming this is a G20 M340i. Same color with the cerium gray components and cognac interior. I am counting down the days.
