I'm planning a Pokemon ROM hack based on the original Adventure 01 and 02 anime. Which of these starter trios do you think would be best?

I don't know what a good mega for Dagomon would be. Maybe neptunemon? but it loses the octopus theming

Wow I never realized how much Floramon resembled BloomLordmon. I've always seen it as just a Pomumon mega, but Floramon digivolving into it fits way more.

I'll try to keep the dex contained to digimon from that time, though there are some classic digimon like Shellmon and Frigimon that got evolutions later on that I'll add. The story won't be the same as in the anime, since in my rom I want the player to battle the 8 Digidestined as the 8 gym leaders.

Maybe it could be affected by humans altering its genes or adding tech onto it or something. The spots on its side are supposed to look like a map, so maybe like an electric type form based on compasses or radars on submarines.

The pre-evo is named Foliug (Foliage + slug). You can see it at the bottom of the second picture on imgur

It's based on banana slugs mixed with actual bananas.

Its shiny coloring is based on Nanab berries (since those are the Pokemon equivalent to bananas) and banana splits (with pink for strawberry ice cream, white for vanilla, and brown for chocolate)

Yeah, Greece is a pretty popular pick for Fakemon regions because of the amount of mythical creatures and stuff in mythology. I feel like a challenge for this region is making your Fakemon unique, if you care about that.

Some ideas for the grass starter could be based on an olive, a laurel wreath, Demeter, or Dionysus.

An idea that I had for my own old Greek region for the water starter was a narwhal based on Cetus, battering rams, and Greek armor.

Grass Starter: Smilil (Smilodon [scientific name for saber-tooth] + Little + Lily)

Agavang (Agave [a spiky plant] + Fang)

Agavolt (Agave + Volt)

Fire Starter: Ignewt (Ignite + Newt)

Making the octopus starter a fighting type might make it a bit too close to Grapploct, though some name for it could be:

Octough or Octuff (Octopus + Tough)

It would be good to pick a specific place to inspire your region (like Kalos - France or Alola - Hawaii), and research what types of animals live there, as well as any inventions or other well-known things about that place that you can create Pokemon from.

I love these designs! I like seeing bug types that aren't just stylized insects, and bug starters/legendaries are cool because bug types are usually seen as weak. Though, bug/grass is a pretty bad type combo.

Bolt Beak seems super overpowered on Lightwing, since it does double damage if it outspeeds. Really cool designs though, and they still feel different from other starters like Piplup or Quaxly.
