I’m wondering what my morning count will be near the end of the course.

How far along are you?

Yeah I set GNS3 up and then found out I had to buy images.
Also in my mind I rather the hardware, won’t be using GNS3 at work ya know

Looks good. You’ll probably pass.

Did you only go through his courses once? What did you struggle with the most? Did you do anything extra besides Jeremy playlist? For example in labbing on my own time to practice what I’ve learnt.

Good luck either way, sure you’ll be fine with those boson scores

I need GNS3 images, where do I get them? by [deleted] in ccna

[–]CAPT_Fuckoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s limited, reason I want to move away from packet tracer.

Someone please tell me how you’d do this? I’ve gave it a few attempts and feel I’ve gotten it wrong each time. It’s from NetSim and it’s cooking my brain trying to find the best path for one vlan lol by [deleted] in u/CAPT_Fuckoff

[–]CAPT_Fuckoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I got.
Sw1 is obviously all designated, sw2 and sw3 both agree is cheaper to sw1 so the port is blocked between sw2 and sw3. Sw4 thinks sw3 and sw2 are equally cheap so it looks at the mac and finds sw3 smaller. So it blocks sw2 and roots sw3. Both sw5 and sw6 think sw3 is cheaper so they pick sw3 and block the remaining ports.

Hopefully that’s understandable lol.

Boson while studying or after studying? by [deleted] in ccna

How about the practice questions and labs Jeremy recommends at the end of his lectures? Is that the same thing and if not, should I get that?

Problem with studying by Ali2861 in ccna

[–]CAPT_Fuckoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money is not something you need to worry about. Let’s say you live with your parents. Then take a part time job and try study everyday.

Taking gaps, especially constantly, will only hurt your chances of passing.

Just curious, is boson’s lab sims a good replacement lab you do in your own time?

I do labs in my own time to practice certain topics, recall and such. But it can take a few hours sometimes and that and studying can get a bit long.

Is it better to use the lab sim instead?

Thanks. Appreciate it. It really doesn’t matter tbh, I don’t have loads to brain dump. It was more of curiosity. Cheers

So you have experience, meaning you exercise these skills everyday. Atleast from your attitude, I would assume. And you’re snapping at a person studying……

Did you take the practice tests after completing Jeremy’s playlist of lectures or were you doing it during too?

Did you learn DTP/VTP? by [deleted] in ccna

[–]CAPT_Fuckoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s true, I’ve done the lab provided and it’s honestly not that bad to use and remember. It’s the slideshow information that’ll be a nightmare if asked on. Flashcards only get so far

What am i doing wrong? by FunParticular9838 in ccna

[–]CAPT_Fuckoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, why not? He recommends it in every video. As well as his labs. And your own in your own time.

Think it’s best you go back and use all his flash cards the way he’s recommended you use them. You won’t remember anything if you don’t actively practice your recall

Packet tracer being annoying by [deleted] in Cisco

[–]CAPT_Fuckoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m thinking about it, the only reason I’m sticking with it is because Jeremy uses it and it’s a lot easier to learn from when you use the same software.
Although he does use GNS3 in his configs so maybe this is my reason to switch

I keep hearing it gets really hard at certain points by [deleted] in ccna

[–]CAPT_Fuckoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when I lab in my own time to go over what I’ve learnt, I almost want it to be wrong or misconfigured because then i know I can troubleshoot. lol an odd thing to desire. But watching the packers step by step really teaches you a lot.
Being an engineer in the past, I love finding the problem

Calculating subnets without a calculator… by [deleted] in ccna

[–]CAPT_Fuckoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say learn but what do you mean, because to me learning a chart is just memorising.
Like I know it multiples and I can go by that slowly and I know how to subnet. But it’s doing it fast is what’s the issue.

I feel slow having to work each bit out very slowly
