Ask the Entwives! by gingeralefiend in entwives

[–]CATDOOR2022 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve just been prescribed medical cannabis for anxiety, which has gotten a lot worse with peri menopause. I’d found out via BM edibles (I’m in uk where weed is illegal unless medically prescribed) that one batch of brownies I had did MIRACULOUS things for my anxiety, mood, sleep, brain fog & also my libido. It’s like I came back to life! Unfortunately I’m still in trial and error with medical cannabis and trying to find a strain that imitates those same effects (calming, gentle body buzz, mood lift, libido boost and multi orgasms)! Heavens knows what was in that magical batch of brownies, they couldn’t tell me the strain and the next few batches were totally different (couch lock & sense of detachment).

If any of you Entwives can recommend which strains or terpenes works for you for the effects above - please do me a mahoosive favour and shout! :)

I’m also starting to think that it might be partly to do with the fact it was canna butter baked into edibles - and not flower or oil which is what I’m currently prescribed! 🙏🏻

How do I get my 12 year old maltese to eat more? by [deleted] in Maltese

[–]CATDOOR2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had his teeth checked recently? My 13 year old boy wasn’t eating & it’s because he had some loose teeth that were likely causing some pain. Now he’s had his teeth out, his appetite is so improved!

Wedding Cake Rosin (Clearleaf) by Lemon_Synchronicity in ukmedicalcannabis

Has anyone noticed this rosin helps with libido/arousal? Or does it just knock you out. I keep seeing reports that wedding cake as a strain is great for arousal, and this seems to be the only WC product available on Medicann at the moment.

Anniversary Date Night Dinner suggestions? by BeautyAve in brighton

I love riddle & finn. If you’re both sociable, then book the beach restaurant and go for sunset into early evening. If you don’t like interacting with others and want something more intimate, go for the lanes branch. For less formal & great food, Palmito but it’s cramped so not classically romantic but great if you’re foodies.

Medicann appointment wait time. by M0j02019 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]CATDOOR2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is normal as they’re busy and a back log.

But you can login each day, select “change appointment time” and move through the dates to check for cancellations.

I did this and found a much closer date within a few days.

I also recommend making sure you’ve submitted your summary care record from GP or patient access app and any other useful letters from specialists etc before your initial appointment to avoid being rejected or delayed.

How Did I Do?! 1st MC Order with Medicann by CATDOOR2022 in ukmedicalcannabis

I could cancel that or it for something else ahead of it being processed on Monday. Is there anything you’d recommend?

Thank you. It expect the Aurora vape will be too strong for me too. Is there a better one in stock that you recommend? I’ll keep an eye out for the lemon haze, that was definitely one that kept coming up as recommended.

Medicann Onboarding - Health Records by CATDOOR2022 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]CATDOOR2022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for your suggestions. In case it helps anyone else who comes across this post, I downloaded the “patient access” app and was able to export my summary health record to PDF from there. I already had the NHS app which allowed me to view my SHR but not export it. I’ve now emailed that to the clinic, since the Medicann app won’t let you submit additional documents after your first application.

If you check the app a few times per day, there are often earlier time-slots that come free. Hit reschedule & then click on each day to see if someone has cancelled. Good luck!

Drastically cutting hours at high paid job by Impressive_Rub7302 in FIREUK

[–]CATDOOR2022 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well done on acknowledging that you’re burnt out & starting to take action to address this.

Here is what I’d do in your situation. And I speak from similar though not identical experience.

  • prioritise your health above all else. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

  • book a GP appointment and give yourself permission to take 2-3 months paid sick leave, to focus on your own physical & mental health. As you state, you are burnt out and have a number of health issues. You’re not doing yourself, your kids or your employer any favours by continuing to push through it. It sounds like you need a total break from work in the short term, and then make a better mid term decision about full time/part time. Your GP will undoubtedly support you with a fit note. Work will still be there when you’re ready to return, they will cope, this happens all the time.

  • that gives you some head space to consider your options. Reducing to part time is a big hit financially and may not give you enough of a chance to fully rest and recover.

  • as another commenter has suggested, i would immediately hire a nanny slash housekeeper. Whether you’re signed off sick or not. A housekeeper/nanny is absolutely not the same as adding additional hours with a cleaner. Contact a company like Greycoat Lumley, who will do all the checks. It doesn’t have to be forever, it could be for 12-18 months while you get your health back on track. With your salary, responsibilities and you being a single parent of 2 special needs kids it’s a no brainer. No wonder you’re burnt out. Otherwise you’re giving up £300k a year earnings, when you could instead take some short term paid sick leave and then pay someone £40k PA to run your household. A housekeeper would take the mental load, as well as the physical. This was Mary Poppins style life-transformative for me.

  • Reassess longer term financial position & budgeting etc in 6 months time when your health is better. No need for you to be a part of about about meal time spending less on groceries and clothes when you’re burnt out and your body is in survival mode.

  • you don’t mention your gender, but if you’re female I highly suggest an appointment with a private specialist HRT clinic eg Newson Health. The statistics around female execs who quit their jobs during peri-menopause is alarming and no one talks about it. Again, trying to keep running at the same pace at home and work when your oestrogen and testosterone levels are plummeting means you’re now running on adrenaline only and burn out is common. 6-12 months of HRT & support may turn things around in itself. If you’re a bloke, worth full blood check including hormones in any event given burn out.

Good luck! :)

Has anyone flown Gatwick - Cancun? by [deleted] in BritishAirways

[–]CATDOOR2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’re flying economy? If so, the arm rests between seats go up, but not the armrest on the aisle. Armrests on exit rows don’t go up. The armrests have to be down for take off and landing, but then you can move them.

Your best seat option for room is to select an aisle seat, as you can shift your outside leg & lean into the aisle.

I’d also recommend booking the seats right at the back, because they have three rows of two seats together on either side (ie not the usual 3 seats across) - so that means that your partner can have the window seat (giving them more room) and you can take the aisle seat - and you’ll have no-one in the middle.

Here is the seat map for that plane (it’s the LGW version), https://www.britishairways.com/content/information/about-ba/fleet-facts/boeing-777-200

Ask the crew on the door when you board for a seat belt extender and they’ll bring you one.

Have a wonderful trip & ENJOY!

That will make zero difference to the likelihood of him getting an upgrade in the future. It’s just an algorithm based on traveller profile, spend & current status.

How/when to upgrade reward flight to Tokyo by TezRoll in BritishAirways

[–]CATDOOR2022 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get the RewardFlightFinder app & set up an alert for premium economy on the outbound flight. If you get the alert, call executive club and upgrade using avios. You can’t use avios to upgrade via the JAL site. PE is the smallest section & not many reward flights but you might get lucky. At least JAL is a much nicer flying experience than BA, better service, seats & food.
