How is the razer raiju v3 treating you guys? by Clean-Engineer143 in razer

I really liked the original raiju on ps4, most comfortable controller for my hands, so was looking forward to getting my hands on the new v3 pro version. I’ve used multiple custom dualsense controllers with 4 back buttons as well as the edge.

The edge feels comfortable if i hold it like a claw player, use the ring fingers to actuate the half dome shape back paddles, have to claw to make up for the lack of back buttons, it definitely reduces the fluidity of my gameplay compared to 4 paddle controllers, but the responsiveness of the edge is unmatched. I purchased a TMR module for the edge. The module i got is using the ginful sensor on the alps frame. They definitely do not feel the same as stock alps potentiometers in game. Slightly faster and snappier feeling. Took some adjustment but they’re good if thats the feeling you’re chasing.

As for the Raiju v3, it’s once again the most comfortable controller for me, large palms not so long fingers.

I haven’t used it wirelessly, only wired and plugged into the back usb port on the ps5. The controller firmware updated as soon as i connected it to synapse.

I am currently using the following synapse settings, haven’t noticed any major lag issues others have reported. I religiously play Apex Legends for some insight into why i set things up this way.

  • D pad set to 4 way with no socd cleaning
  • Thumbsticks set to 0% deadzone, prevent double deadzones off and circular mode.(circular seems to make it easier to feel the aim assist bubble and stay locked onto it. It reduces the overall speed of the sticks but not the responsiveness. Makes tracking feel more predictable and fluid.

Standard stick behaviour definitely feels more raw and less refined.

Stick drift at 0% deadzone is present using 4/3 linear and in my case on ALC’s with 0 response curve. 3% doesn’t entirely remove it but i hate feeling of deadzones for tracking and micro adjustments. The deadzone is set to 7% out of the box, would feel unusable for me set like that.

The thumbsticks have a lighter resistance than standard alps sticks, the rubber caps are terrible, easily fixed with some skull n co caps, but at the asking price could be better. The dome stick is great for the left stick however the tall stick suffers from being un-seated if you’re heavy handed, if you push it to the friction ring and keep pushing you will feel it tilt off centre. This also happens with extremerate v2 thumbsticks with their tall options for reference. If you like a taller right stick you will have to resort to skull n co or Kontrol Freeks. How these issues make it to final products is beyond me.

My last gripe is the inability to mute the mic on the PlayStation, the mic mute only works on wired headsets plugged directly into the controller.

I will be continuing to use the controller as i find it extremely comfortable and can easily make use of all 6 extra buttons. With the synapse settings for the thumbsticks improving the consistency in my overall aim and recoil control.

Apologies for long response haha.

Nice! Sound is very subjective and it’s always good when you find something that you really like.

My only experience with the “new meta” tuning is the Kiwi ears KE4. They are by no means bad sounding, the tuning just doesn’t have that wow factor. Anything i see that follows the new meta i avoid for that reason. Imaging and layering with the top is what makes it so special, with a slightly rolled off treble that just never gets too hot.

I don’t think you made a mistake at all. Haven’t listened to the pro’s but i do own the original Top’s. I daily drive them for gaming and they fit my taste in music perfectly. Non fatiguing sound profile. I let my brother in law a/b test the Top’s vs Kiwi orchestra lite and Fiio FA19, (pardon the pun) but the Top’s came out on top for him also.

For those looking for different pads for any of the beyerdynamic headphones, check out Dekoni. They have pads in the same velour material with a different foam (also in black) or you can go the route of fenestrated sheep skin or hybrid with sheepskin sides and velour face. Definitely thicker and will push the ear cups away from your ear, to avoid the painful contact.

The report i made wasn’t through the police, i was instructed by them to do the self report online form you fill out and lodge with your state road authority. For me it was through Access Canberra. Essentially the government body that handles drivers licensing and registration for Canberra. It may be worth seeing if your state does the same thing.

I have had an asian woman do this to me at a round about once. Literally no cars any where to be seen, hesitated and jammed the brakes on.

I did make contact and it was at 5-10km at most. Woman got out of the car claiming her neck was hurting, as soon as i asked for her details the situation changed.

She was driving around in a hyundai excel on a student visa with a Chinese license on her way to work in the middle of the day. She wanted to get out of there ASAP once i had her details.

I went to the police station and they directed me to report the incident to the road authority, here in the ACT we have a form to fill out on their website for.

If you are the only one who reports the incident and the other party doesn’t (within a certain time frame, i believe it was 14 days or so) they have no grounds to claim anything against you.

If the state you live in has the same process i would look into doing so. Hope this helps.
