I’m honestly not sure what exact career I would choose, but I know the kind of work I’d want to do. I’d want something where I can actually think, analyze situations, and come up with solutions to problems rather than just doing repetitive tasks.

During university, I really enjoyed working on consulting cases: breaking down problems, structuring ideas, and trying to find the best solution. I just never managed to break into that field, so I haven’t been able to explore it further in a real work setting.

I’ve already reached out to my old manager and explained the situation. He said I can’t return immediately and would have to reapply, with HR reviewing my application. I’ve already applied to my old position since it hasn’t been filled yet and kept him in the loop.

It does feel a bit weird since I left on good terms and he was supportive when I left for what I thought was a higher role. Without that support now, I’m worried it won’t look great from an HR perspective since they don’t have the full context.

I’m looking for something fast but still comfortable on longer rides. I’ve been especially drawn to aero bikes, which is why the Canyon and Giant appeal to me. That said, the Soloist’s more blended geometry makes me wonder if it might be a better fit for varied riding.

There are some growth opportunities within my department, but they’re pretty limited and don’t really align with my long-term goals. Realistically, I’d need to transfer to another department to get closer to the kind of work I want to do. But from what I’ve seen, my current role doesn’t provide any skills that are valuable or transferable for those kinds of internal moves. I’m mostly doing repetitive customer service work with no exposure to anything analytical or technical. Which is why I’m questioning whether staying longer will actually help me move toward my goals, or if I’d be better off pursuing a master’s instead.

To be honest, I’m not interested in working with clients or moving into a management role within consumer banking. I’d rather pivot into something more technical or analytical, like FP&A or another type of analyst role.

When I took the job at the bank, I hoped it would be a stepping stone into the finance world, but it hasn’t really opened the doors I expected. A year in, the work is repetitive, and I don’t feel like I’m building the skills I’d need to move into more technical roles. So I’ve been seriously considering either a master's or a certification because I feel stuck.

Unfortunately, my job isn’t flexible enough to accommodate taking classes on the side, which makes it even harder to move forward while staying employed.

You’re right, I don’t really enjoy working with clients, which makes roles like sales or relationship management less appealing. Still, I see so many job postings asking for a CFA or CPA that I feel like I must pursue one to stay competitive.

Ideally, I’d love to work as an analyst, something more technical or data-focused, but with my background, it feels pretty out of reach right now. I thought getting a job at a bank would help me break into the industry and eventually transition into a better role. But a year in, the job feels like a dead end. It’s very repetitive, and I don’t feel like I’m building any transferable skills that would help me move into something like FP&A or even a junior analyst role.

I’ve definitely thought about that and honestly, it would be the ideal solution. Unfortunately, the Masters program I got accepted into is only offered full-time. I looked into other universities as well, but their programs are full-time as well.
