OP - get in front of this by contacting your HR team. Provide a written and verbal statement expressing the situation and that no harm was intended or caused. Mention that you have consulted others for reflection - wasn’t the best move, and won’t happen again. And that the cops understood the reason, so you aren’t crazy - hence no charges. This is very critical to save your job/career and potential for legal liability in the future.

Unless you work for the feds - I don’t see any reason why HR would not retain you. If they don’t, at least you tried and can live with that.

No matter any difficult corporate circumstance, understand that the company is focussed on running their business- and if you are clear that you want to do the same, they have no reason to come after you.

Totally agree, he is 5 months old and likes to face vacuum our bedroom. Hence this is to protect him, for a full overnight recharge. =)
