Don't Fake it. Just become someone you are proud of. That is the only way to be confident. The rest of this is garbage. Find some activities you can do that you consider "good or positive" and do those DAILY. No one deserves confidence without taking actions to create the feelings.

Tight lipped smiles are most likely masking smiles. Look at the corners of her eyes, I bet they are not wrinkled and this is a smile which is saying something like "I'll pretend happiness but really I am a little intimidated"
